Her personality wins every heart that walks through our door. She is social, resilient, playful and affectionate. Morphine is available in hospice but it is reluctantly prescribed here. Many fear addiction or loss of respiratory drive. Pat was able to educate the hospice doctor and the patients family about the benefits of morphine, especially acting directly on the lungs and aiding Al, the patient, in comfort.
