kaleidoscope life: July 2007

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Saturday, July 21, 2007. So 2 ½ years ago I started law school. It was a step of faith, and a huge one at that. Naturally I’m not much of a risk-taker, but I have taken very large risks at pivotal points in my life, where I’ ve. Felt that was the right thing to do, where I’ ve. Labels: all about me. Friday, July 13, 2007. So a while back one of the girls that i used to teach in sunday. Labels: all about me. Tonight i g...

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Tuesday, January 15, 2008. I have done a substantial amount of thinking about my future these past few weeks. i have come to several conclusions. First, i want to change the world. with God's help, i intend to do so. I don't know that it will work. it is a risk. but the idealism of youth has stuck with me, and i will not be satisfied with less. and so i'm. Labels: all about me. Tuesday, January 01, 2008. Working too mu...

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Tuesday, June 26, 2007. The weight of suffering. I carry the weight of others' suffering deep within me. at times i think i carry it deeper than they themselves may feel or recognize. I guess i do think there is a purpose: if nothing else a purpose of reflecting the God who carries the burden of our suffering, who holds it deeply to his heart, who reaches out to touch us in our pain. kaleidoscope life: December 2008

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Thursday, December 04, 2008. An (too) exciting night. About 30 minutes later, i hear thudding upstairs. and then roommie. Appears downstairs, and exclaims, "there's a mouse in your room." oh, dear. i quietly ask, "are you sure? Like you actually saw the mouse, its eyes, it's little nose? Confirms that she did actually see the mouse. so she proceeds to go to sleep in her paint-fume infested room instead. So i quickly tr...

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Today i believe that i am in exactly the right place at the right time. i found out last week that i will be able to write while i am at the courts after all-i thought i would have to wait until i no longer worked there. Then, today i found out that i will be allowed to use westlaw from school still to write law review articles because that relates to my job as an adjunct professor! So anywa...

Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. It seems to me that the first year of home ownership must be the most adventurous. it certainly has been for me. perhaps in years to come i will be met by adventure after adventure, but i somehow doubt that anything will be as interesting as this first year has been. Take the winter for example. how does one shut off the water to outside so that the pipes don't freeze? A little bit like a ...

Follow the Shepherd: June 2005
http://followtheshepherd.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Blogging about culture, theology, art, and life in general. Friday, June 03, 2005. Well, almost, I have to finish one final paper for my epistemology class. I'm writing on the postmodern role of scripture. Here is a quote from a postmodern theologian, Brad Kallenberg. Outsiders can read the. But cannot read the Scriptures because the term. Epitomizes the stance one takes toward the moral authority of the canonical text. (Taken from Virtues and Practices in the Christian Tradition: Christian Ethics. See a...

kaleidoscope life: really delayed life update
http://kaleidoscopelives.blogspot.com/2007/11/really-delayed-life-update.html
Ka·lei·do·scope 1. A series of changing phases or events: a kaleidoscope of illusions. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Really delayed life update. I passed the bar exam. yay. Done i never have to go to school again. nice to know, though i'll. Probably study again eventually. Or not. turns out for me, it will be quite a lot cheaper to pay the $20/month for 12 months than to pay for a service call on a Sunday and a new circuit board. So my bar-exam stupor/stupidity has turned out to be a blessing, after all.
