Saturday, December 28, 2013. This Duck Has No Pluck. Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson is a walking stereotype. I always say that all stereotypes are based on some sort of truth. Robertson is a 67-year old, duck hunting, southern bigot. Not to mention that it would take the contents of an entire Gillette Razor factory to shape up his two-foot long beard. Attorneys for Ampersand Publishing, the company wholly owned by Wendy McCaw which, in turn, owns the Santa Barbara News-Press, filed papers in Santa Barbara Superior Court today in which it was revealed that an arbitrator has ordered Ampersand to pay $900,000 in legal fees and other costs to former News-Press editor Jerry Roberts. Roberts has called the award, "A decisive victory for ethical journalism.".
