Doug & Nancy in South America: January 2013
http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Sunday, January 27, 2013. Our surprise farewell fiesta. Both Ambato and Catamarca Wards had a surprise farewell party for us last Friday, January 25th. We were so touched to see so many people there to wish us well and say goodbye. Daiana Cruz and her partner performed some darling folkloric dances for everyone. They were great! Hernan and his sister Valeria Pavon, Cami and Luli Ledesma sang a beautfiul song - beautiful voices! Susana Diaz and her husband Jose Mercado.

Doug & Nancy in South America: Humberstone
http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2015/07/humberstone.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Thursday, July 9, 2015. On P-day this week we drove to a place called Humberstone, which is an abandoned mining town and now a tourist attraction. They mined saltpeter, which is potassium nitrate and was used to make fertilizer, fireworks, gunpowder, etc. The mines began in the 1800's and shut down about 1960 after Germany had invented something less expensive. It's out near Pozo Almonte. We loved seeing their swimming pool! They even had a grandstand.

http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Friday, August 28, 2015. We finally got a picture of our zone just before transfers. We just love working with these missionaries and they've found that the work is very, very sweet! They work hard and they're very happy. It's such a pleasure knowing them. Notice that the Latin elders are from 7 different countries and the Americans from 5 different states! Doug and Nancy Lawson. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Doug and Nancy Lawson. Doug & Nancy in South America: May 2015
http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Wednesday, May 13, 2015. A Baptism, The Santiago Temple, and our Wonderful Zone. Cute little Bruno was baptized by his stepfather, Pedro. As you can see, he was quite excited for this special event. His mother, Miriam, is a very enthusiastic person. His sister, Francisca, was also excited for him. We always need to get a picture outside in front of the chapel! A beautiful night scene of the temple. This is quite the international group! Doug and Nancy Lawson. A Baptism, T...

The DAM Fam: November 2014
http://whoreallyreadsthisblog.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. Anyway, I busted out the camera for this event and took pictures so here they are. It was Miles' school fundraiser this year. A fun run that the kids got pledges for how many laps they ran. Miles was way in to it because they got prizes for how many dollars per lap they got pledged. He wound up getting a whopping 4 dollars per lap! I really dislike it. My problems aside, THANKS to everyone who pledged! Miles gave me a five as we went around each lap. The Power of a Compliment.

Doug & Nancy in South America: April 2013
http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Thursday, April 11, 2013. Torres del Paine National Park. The following day we took a 24 passenger Jeep tour to Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. The pictures below tell our story. The two very small birds seen flying high below the clouds are condors. Right in the middle, obscured by fog and clouds, are Torres del Paine mountain peaks. As the day went along the clouds cleared and we were able to see them. We loved seeing the back side of Torres del Paine. I couldn...

Doug & Nancy in South America: April 2015
http://lawsonmission.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Doug and Nancy in South America. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Pacific Ocean, The Golf Course.again, La Portada, A Cemetery, the Tropic of Capricorn landmark, a Baptism, and our District. How's that for a title? See all that white on top of the rock? It's bird droppings. As rain is a rarity among rarities, it just never gets washed off. But isn't the ocean gorgeous? Our two-lane road, Route 1, with the Atacama Desert hills right next to the ocean. So amazing! You can see Antofagasta in the background.

The DAM Fam: Pleasure Pier
http://whoreallyreadsthisblog.blogspot.com/2013/02/pleasure-pier.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. We saw the sun set on one side of the pier and the moon rise on the other. It was pretty. Here's some from Dave's phone:. We stopped at Chick Flick, as Miles calls it, on the way home and bought Miles a shake since he doesn't eat chicken or french fries. He ate it like it was his job. Here's a video of Miles on the bumper cars:. And one more for good, memory keeping measure:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Mom and Dad Mission. Mom and Pops down South. A Day in the Life.
