Nana-B's Quilting Fun: January 2011
http://nanabs-quilting-fun.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 10, 2011. E-mail from a Princess to her Princess Grandma. Today I went to "Quilt Camp" at Nana's. I did a LOT of the work, but I am quick to say I did not do "all" of the sewing. Nana did some, too. We made a dolly quilt. Nana had to put LOTS of pins in to make the edge of my quilt. Then I helped steer it through the big sewing machine, and now I have a dolly quilt! I said, "Nana, it's a LOT of work making a quilt". Today when I took it home, I decided it was a kitty bed. I was the ki...

Nana-B's Quilting Fun: I do NOT get credit for this masterpiece!
http://nanabs-quilting-fun.blogspot.com/2011/07/i-do-not-get-credit-for-this.html
Saturday, July 23, 2011. I do NOT get credit for this masterpiece! I just wanted to document it for posterity and really felt I must share it with the world- it is so beautiful. Done by our "real quilter" friend for my granddaughter. Detail of the pattern and the "flaps". A big larger portion. I am not sharing the "signature" area; too much personal information for a public blog. It's beautifully done. October 2, 2011 at 4:46 PM. What a treasure. . Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Nana-B's Quilting Fun: Dutch Flowers
http://nanabs-quilting-fun.blogspot.com/2011/02/dutch-flowers-times-two.html
Thursday, February 17, 2011. My daughter calls this one "Wooden Shoes". It's another large quilted center panel with border. I merely followed the lines of the print for the quilting. I love the crisp clean look - finished quilt. You will see a variant on this one if I ever get back to my quilting. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Note to "Real" Quilters:. You won't like my machine methods, I know, but I am having fun working my way through them right now, and I love you anyway! Sewing on the Deck!

Nana-B's Quilting Fun: Big Blocks
http://nanabs-quilting-fun.blogspot.com/2011/02/big-blocks.html
Thursday, February 17, 2011. One of my daughters designed these. My other daughter chose the fabrics. The effect is very bold, especially as we used such large squares. (I would not make another one with such large squares, but it is quite spectacular.). It was originally one quilt, and it was massive, so I split it into two identical ones. It was relatively easy to get the quilting stitches where I wanted them with the corners to "eyeball". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Note to "Real" Quilters:.

Nana-B's Quilting Fun: Another one; I only "helped" with this one
http://nanabs-quilting-fun.blogspot.com/2011/04/another-one-i-only-helped-with.html
Saturday, April 30, 2011. Another one; I only "helped" with this one. Some eight or so years ago, my daughter started this baby quilt for her sister. Her sister has finished creating her family, but it was not complete. This year she decided to send it to our friends in Sweden. She designed, pieced, and backed it with flannel. Many friends helped with hand-quilting. In the end I finished the hand-quilting and turned the backing over to form the binding. Here is the back of very soft flannel.

http://nanabs-sewing-fun.blogspot.com/2011/05/ice-cream-cones-she-says-it-is-her-new.html
Anything I feel like making from kid clothes, to dolly clothes I design. Also other garments and projects. Anything which strikes my fancy! See the link to the Quilts blog below for my quilts.). Thursday, May 26, 2011. Ice Cream Cones - she says it is her new "Party Dress"! I have never used lace like this on anything for her because I can't stand the way it crunches up in the laundry and we do not have time to iron anything, so this time I decided to nail it down so it won't move in the laundry. I have ...

Books We Like - Reading Order: Mitford and Father Tim Series - Karon

Nana-B's Sewing Fun: Horsies and Cowboys

Anything I feel like making from kid clothes, to dolly clothes I design. Also other garments and projects. Anything which strikes my fancy! See the link to the Quilts blog below for my quilts.). Sunday, September 4, 2011. So, I started out to make a pair of cowboy corduroys. I was working with denim so I experimented with decorative stitching using 'Jeans' thread. It worked beautifully, so I purchased the colors I wanted for the corduroy. I decided to make a knee patch (again to strengthen the fabric) an...
