black and white and checked all over: derrida, derrida, let me come in!
http://checkedallover.blogspot.com/2007/02/derrida-derrida-let-me-come-in.html
Black and white and checked all over. Tuesday, February 27, 2007. Derrida, derrida, let me come in! So i made the mistake of treating myself to an early afternoon movie before coming in to talk about the film and derrida himself. i choose to see pan's labyrinth. wrong choice before having to come in and focus on post-structuralism and the way derrida handled himself while on film. it's going to take me some time before i can actually make sense of my response to derrida. Iceberg Theory: i humiliate, separate the english from the dutch
http://ratsofthetower.blogspot.com/2007/04/i-humiliate-separate-english-from-dutch.html
Who needs Harold Bloom? Wednesday, April 25, 2007. I humiliate, separate the english from the dutch. The secular and non-secular world are exposed so that we can see all the tiny gears working. what have we exposed? As this is my final post, i almost forget that were talking about literature! I want to get sentimental and dramatic. While researching, links between theories were revealing themselves. with lacan, i was jumping into feminism, postcolonialism, and even into postmodernism. I'm a goddamn pisce...

Looking a Little Deeper into Literature: April 2007
http://robbie-guastella.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Looking a Little Deeper into Literature. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Even though this makes sense to me, I have trouble with the idea of the writer not actually writing the text. As a writer, I want to believe that what is produced by my author function had at least. Or, if it happens to be good, how can I be praised for it? I don't deserve praise for something that I had no control over (what is the point of writing a research paper if we are not really writing it? How do we make change for the better?

black and white and checked all over: the book of job - god shoots the shit with satan
http://checkedallover.blogspot.com/2007/02/book-of-job-god-shoots-shit-with-satan.html
Black and white and checked all over. Wednesday, February 21, 2007. The book of job - god shoots the shit with satan. One day the heavenly beings came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. The Lord said to Satan, "Where have you come from? Satan answered the Lord, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it." The Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. -Job 1.6-1.12. Someone in c...

Iceberg Theory: January 2007
http://ratsofthetower.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Who needs Harold Bloom? Wednesday, January 31, 2007. What do you mean? Or how do you mean? Intentions, intentions. seems to be the overriding difference between the two theories. liberal humanists contend that great literature speaks in universals and thusly an author should aspire for the same. his/her intentions should be determined by this need to portray something universal, whatever that is. Yes of course, but i think we'd have to put marxism aside to figure that out. Friday, January 26, 2007. All t...

Iceberg Theory: response to previous post
http://ratsofthetower.blogspot.com/2007/03/response-to-previous-post.html
Who needs Harold Bloom? Sunday, March 25, 2007. Response to previous post. I definitely agree that your unconscious is "scripting your texts for you," but I don't think it means death of the individual; rather, it's an understanding of how limited our freedom of action is. And the little freedom we do have is important. (previous response). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Rant on the real. Response to previous post. Its like the matrix!
