The Mermaid and the Astronaut: October 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Saturday, October 30, 2010. My 1st Church Activity. I've recently been put in charge of our church's activities. I'm really into it! My first one to plan was our Trunk Or Treat. I went to my trusty notebook full of pulled out magazine ideas and chose a couple to try. Martha Stewart is always a good place to start as well. She had the idea below of the hanging decorations. My next project idea was also by Martha Stewart, candy corn pom poms. Aren't they cute? Katherine had h...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: February 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Monday, February 22, 2010. Progress Report on Resolutions. Chuck was feeling energized and organized those shameful kitchen cabinets for me. He did a wonderful job, I will never doubt his skills again! Links to this post. Friday, February 19, 2010. I shopped 2 consignment sales this past week and am pleased with my bargains! What did we do before these sales existed? Here's an itemized list of what $250 got me:. 2 swim suit cover-ups. 3 pairs of jeans. 4 pairs of shorts.

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: A New Love
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2011/01/new-love.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Thursday, January 13, 2011. My husband and his buddies are big fans of paintball. They meet in camo in the woods and spend a few hours shooting at each other. I was invited to go and actually went. This was a great excuse for Chuck to purchase more equipment. That morning I was quite nervous. I kept imaging awful scenarios; what if I have to use the bathroom, I'm going to fall and break an arm, what if I get hit and cry! The above suit would really come in handy. I'm a chir...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: December 2009
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Thursday, December 31, 2009. I finally made it to "New Moon". I was worried that it would leave the theater before I got there. My husband stayed home with the kids this time. I'm so glad that he did. Although he's quite tolerant, the whiny teenage love talk would have put him in a bad mood. I promise never to put you through anything like this ever again. This is the last time you'll ever see me.". Last night Chuck and I saw "Sherlock Holmes". It was the best of all! A few...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: July 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Friday, July 30, 2010. Must Make it to 10,000. I have gone through several pedometers since then. If you would like to do this program you MUST invest in a quality pedometer. My latest and favorite one is by Omron and is available at Amazon.com for $27.50. It is digital so the counting mechanism never gets stuck and stops counting. There's nothing worse than to discover it's not been counting for half your day. My Omron hasn't disappointed me yet! The Mermaid and the Astronaut: June 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Every week I make a "master list". By the end of the week it looks like this:. The first side is my grocery list. I make it according to how items are found in the grocery store. This prevents having to go back to an isle I've already passed. The other side of the "Master List" has things I need or would like to accomplish by the end of the week. I enjoy crossing these things off. If they don't get crossed off they are added to the followin...My qu...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: March 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Wednesday, March 17, 2010. My fake tattoos from last weekend are still very much here. I layered 3 large ones together on my forearm for a costume. Regular soap didn't do a thing. Baby oil with lots of scrubbing only resulted in weird colored flakes atop a stinging red arm. Links to this post. My First Successful Refashion. My friend, Ginger emailed me this great blog, Made With Love and Glue. Here's our adorable new look! Links to this post. Tuesday, March 16, 2010. The mo...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: April 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Thursday, April 29, 2010. I pulled up the ancient contact paper and replaced it with black non-skid matting. After putting back only. The items that belong under there, it looks nice! It's a pleasure to get something out from under there now. I am pleased. But the linen closet awaits. Links to this post. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. I did not like the brown painted legs so I painted them. I was tempted to go with a red or yellow but I already had black. I priced house number si...

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: January 2010
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Tuesday, January 26, 2010. The 100th post. What to say? I think at one time it was popular to share 100 things about yourself but that's just too self-absorbed even for me. And it creeps me out that anyone would actually spend the time to read 100 things about anyone. That idea is probably out-dated anyway. Blogs are sooo "two years ago" according to Amanda on "Ugly Betty". I like to be fashionably late into the world of technology. It works for me. Links to this post.

The Mermaid and the Astronaut: Coconut Oil
http://themermaidandtheastronaut.blogspot.com/2011/01/coconut-oil.html
The Mermaid and the Astronaut. Wednesday, January 19, 2011. My friend Cindy told me she had been cooking a lot with coconut oil. I have a container of it but really haven't used it. I believe I got mine from Wal-mart. Coconut oil is solid at room temperature but melts to the touch. Cindy also uses it on her hands as a moisturizer. This week I was in the mood for brownies but didn't have any vegetable oil. How would coconut oil work? January 23, 2012 at 1:15 AM. Http:/ www.daveigh-chase.org/.
