Cleaning up contaminated sediments. In 2003, LDWG proposed areas for early action sediment cleanup to get an early start on reducing risks. Actions were taken at three of these most polluted sites (the Norfolk combined sewer overflow [CSO]/storm drain, the Duwamish/Diagonal Way outfalls, and Slip 4).
