North Sea Cycle Route. You are here: Home. Raquo; South America. In May 2011 we set off on a trip to pedal around South America. Over the next 15 months we cycled more than 21,000km through every country on the continent. The trip began and ended in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was the experience of a lifetime. The cycling was hard at times, but the amazing scenery and fantastic people made it more than worth it. Planning for the trip. Want to read from the beginning? As we left Rio de Janeiro.

North Sea Cycle Route. RSS feed for this section. 08 Mar, 2011. Pedalling about on our new bikes. Bridgwater, Somerset – Reading – London. It’s hard to convey how excited we were on the train down to Bridgwater in spite of an early start. We were off to pick up our new Thorn Nomads from St John’s Cycles. Having visited a few weeks earlier to get measured up and spec out what we wanted. They looked lovely with matt black frames, shiny hubs, chunky tyres and shiny new Brooks. Older Entries ».

North Sea Cycle Route. RSS feed for this section. 20 Jul, 2013. Cycling London to Paris: the French part. Early the next morning, we rolled off the ferry into a grey, cold drizzle that masked the industrial toughness of Le Havre. It was hard to motivate ourselves to get moving after a breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat in town, where our confident French practice from the previous day was found out quickly by the perplexed locals. Idyllic sounding, it was actually the rainiest day of our cycle trip around South America so far, and we only stopped for a few minutes to celebrate before getting back in the saddle for a day thinking about moments from the road. North Sea Cycle Route. RSS feed for this section. 01 Nov, 2010. Coast to Coast 3 – Rookhope to Tynemouth. The final stretch and our priorities were to get to Tynemouth by 3:30 to give us time to return to Newcastle for the train, and most importantly to arrive before the boys. We started with an off-road climb. Out of Rookhope. The road was too muddy and stony to ride so we pushed the bikes up. Once at the top we had a fabulous long stretch. But so far we have spent less than ten per cent of our nights in a tent, which leaves us wondering if we are lacking a true adventerous spirit. Subscribe to the comments on this post.
