Little lead men of valour: January 2015

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Saturday, January 3, 2015. A resolution for the New Year. Following on from fellow club members James Wright's and Brendan Day's painting tally (painted versus purchased) for last year I decided to do an accurate stocktake of how far I am in the red. It is probably a bad idea to actually work out the size of the lead mountain but in the words of Sun Tzu "Know your enemy! Victorian London buildings for EOTD/IHMN. WWII 15mm buildings for Crossfire/CoC.

Little lead men of valour: September 2011

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Sunday, September 25, 2011. English Civil War - Battle of Cheriton Nunawading Wargames Open Day 2011. It has been several months since my last post but I have not been idle I can assure you. Work commitments have prevented any posts to this blog but on the plus side I travelled to Europe for work training in Germany and managed a short holiday in the UK on the way. First off the list was our club's annual public open day and myself and fellow NWA'er Tom w...

Little lead men of valour: January 2012

Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Sunday, January 1, 2012. New Years gaming resolutions 2012. Another year has passed and after the hang over's and ringing ears have passed it is time to look ahead to the coming wargamming year. Looking back on 2011 I have largely stayed true to my initial plans. I have finally painted enough English Civil War stuff to start playing some games. I also continued painting my World War II 15mm crossfire armies. So what am I planning for the New Year. So that...

Little lead men of valour: June 2014
http://littleleadmenofvalour.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Monday, June 16, 2014. Hordes of the Things (HOTT) Undead army. In the next few posts I will put up pictures of a collection of armies I have had for quite a while that fall into the Fantasy genre. Pretty soon I was drawn to historical gaming and all my wargaming efforts went into those pursuits. Somewhere along the way I sold my dwarves and my Skeleton Army box set sat in my cupboard waiting for its time to shine. Lastly every army needs to have a strong...

Little lead men of valour: December 2014
http://littleleadmenofvalour.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Monday, December 1, 2014. The scatter brained wargamer. Well I find myself in a bit of a pickle. My efforts to stay focused on one period for an extended period of time lies in tatters on the ground. I do really envy those wargamers that "stay on target". There are guys at my local club that play Napoleonics and nothing else! That dashing fellow Shaftsbury and his loyal steam Bulldog Winston! After that I have a whole platoon plus supports of German Afrik...

Little lead men of valour: November 2011
http://littleleadmenofvalour.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Monday, November 14, 2011. I know I said that I would concentrate on only a few periods this year to maximise my painting efforts but my strong resolve that has held for 11 months of the year has finally been broken. So like a lemming I have finally succumb and rushed off the cliff. So here they are my band of sea faring ruffians. The figures for my crew are a mix of Eureka miniatures and Old Glory. My Captain in the yellow jacket! Miniature Wargames with...

Little lead men of valour: NWA's Open Day - part four
http://littleleadmenofvalour.blogspot.com/2014/10/nwa-open-day-part-four.html
Little lead men of valour. World War II Dogfight. Sunday, October 5, 2014. NWAs Open Day - part four. The final post covering our club open day covering the games that didn't fit into a special category. We had a nice looking game from the Russian Civil War. This is the first time this period has been featured at the club and club members Richard Bradley and Jon Bunce put together a great looking game. The rules used are Triumph and Tragedy. Some lovely looking armoured cars in this game. Games 2016 Scen...
