Joanne and I like going for a walk for breakfast on the weekend every once in a while. Last weekend was a little more challenging. Blowing snow and down right chilly! So, we walked 12 blocks vs the normal 4 miles. I am not complaining, we certainly need the moisture. But I do like rain over blowing snow! I don't know if he blames the weather or us. At an elevation of 10,430ft above sea level this historic mining community sits in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Situated at the headwaters of the Arkansas River this old mining town lies between the Sawatch range to the west and the Mosquito range to the east. There are over 19 14'ers between these two ranges and Leadville is in the middle of it all!

The Old Davis Boarding House. 228 E 9th St. Leadville, Co 80461. Three blocks to downtown and the Mineral Belt Trail. We also have a smaller three room Guest Apartment on the second level with a queen bed in the bedroom, a futon that folds out to a double bed in the sitting room, and small but cute kitchen. It is suitable for 2 people or a small family. It has a bathroom outside the door on the landing. This apartment also has a TV and wi-fi. The photos above are of the third floor Treehouse Apartment.
