March 29, 2011. There is something about girl soldiers that makes people turn away. It is difficult to talk about. It is too hard, too painful to hear about girls in and among atrocities. When many talk about child soldiers, they typically refer to boys. Many provide sympathy openly, discussing rehabilitation and programs, emphasizing the horrors of war and the effects on children.
