A slightly more in-depth (and jargon-heavy) description of my work:. Broadly, the visuomotor transformation for SP occurs through multiple pathways from the cortex through the cerebellum prior to reaching the oculomotor nuclei in the brainstem that control the eye muscles (for review, see ref 1). One important brain area for SP is the smooth eye movement region of the Frontal Eye Field (FEFsem). Located in the frontal lobe. And direction-selectivity for visual motion. Which projects to the cerebellum.
