Sunday, April 15, 2007. A year of silence on this site is quickly coming around the corner. I suppose I can call it a sabbatical. A shift needed to happen. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Last weekend I paddled on the North Santiam River for the first time. We put in below the massive Big Cliff dam and ran five miles down to Packsaddle County Park. A few hundred yards above the take-out we needed to portage around a 12-foot dam, part of the Minto trap.
