LEMELCH: Waiting for the black sun
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/03/waiting-for-black-sun.html
Friday, 20 March 2015. Waiting for the black sun. I'm sitting here waiting for the solar eclipse - and the very act of writing these words excites me. Eclipse of the sun. Don't we live in a magical world? Some things just have more beautiful names. If you're interested in my impressions (and understand German), you can read my newspaper article here. I can't focus anymore, because I have to look up into the sky every two seconds. It's 10:27 am and you can't really see anything so far.

LEMELCH: First sentences (they must be mine)
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/03/first-sentences-they-must-be-mine.html
Friday, 6 March 2015. First sentences (they must be mine). I've heard the suggestion many times:. Begin in the middle. Skip the first scene to get started. It's said to help getting over writer's block, some even suggest starting with a random sentence to avoid the dreaded-by-all blank page. In short: It doesn't work for me. At all. The first sentence has to be there and it has to be mine. Yes, I may change it later on, but these first few words are crucial to set the mood. I'm a gut writer.

LEMELCH: Beginnings
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/03/beginnings.html
Tuesday, 3 March 2015. It's Tuesday morning and I'm lying in bed with an ending lung infection. I began writing my new novel a short while ago, and it's still in these early stages where each word can change everything. It feels like the first steps on a rope reaching from one cliff to another. There is fog everywhere and you can't see a thing. You have to feel your way. I have to make a break every now and then, breath in and out and check the words I've written so far. LEMELCH: Love stories
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/03/love-stories.html
Monday, 30 March 2015. Last week, I moved to a new place and since this afternoon, I have access to the Internet. It's really tough to find out why your Internet doesn't work, if you can't ask it. I finally decided which shortstory to write for an anthology that is going to be released next spring. It's gonna be my first explicit (not in the dirty sense of the word) love story and I'm quite excited to write it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

LEMELCH: No blogging = writing
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/06/no-blogging-writing.html
Sunday, 21 June 2015. No blogging = writing. I haven't written a blog post for ages - but actually, that's a good sign. I've been writing my novel and it's going surprisingly well (considering that the exam period is coming up next month and I'm taking part in the political simulation 'Model European Union' this week). But I love it. I take long walks at night, wake up with a determination that I've missed so much and feel everything more deeply. However, being creative has other wonderful but distra...

LEMELCH: Writing short stories
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/04/writing-short-stories.html
Monday, 20 April 2015. I finished the short story over the weekend andit became something completely different from what I had expected. The assignment (for an anthology I'm contributing to, obviously) was to write a realistic short story with a twist at the end. So writing short stories is always incalculable and - if I have to submit it - a very stressfull process. But at the end, I'm always surprised. And isn't this the reason why I'm a writer in the first place? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

LEMELCH: On Presence
http://lemelch.blogspot.com/2015/03/on-presence.html
Sunday, 8 March 2015. I'm so inspired, I just have to share it with you:. It's a HBO documentation about Marina Abramovic's work and life, centered around her MoMA performance "The Artist Is Present". Marina Abramovic's creative focus is incredible. Watch the trailer here. And then watch the whole thing. I started watching it this afternoon - not a good thing on a writing day - and now I'm both paralyzed and restless at the same time. Thanks for the recommendation, by the way.

PENCIL PILLOW by Mai Mergili: February 2012
http://pencilpillow.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Let me play you like a fucking video game. I don’t consider myself photography expert or professional. Actually, I am not an expert on anything. But for all that, I have developed motherly feelings for my lenses which I sometimes affectionately call my “babies”. The boy, the older lens, the protection lens is already broken. Amount of tissues I needed to smear the colour. During my drawing process, I was listening to it over and over. Last morning before school begins. Stay tuned, literally. Dt/ heute ha...
