Seidlitz Family Blog: Aviation
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/p/aviation.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. As you can see by the photo on the right, I am quite interested in aviation. This lifelong passion was fueled by taking flying lessons. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to fly (for health reasons), so I will have to get my aviation fix other ways. For those who would like to know, I did my first solo flight on Monday July 19th, 2010 and only slightly bounced the Cessna 172 that day. My training was done at Spectrum Airways (Burlington Airpark). The last four months.

Seidlitz Family Blog: Juno, Belgium, and Amsterdam
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015/06/juno-belgium-and-amsterdam.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Juno, Belgium, and Amsterdam. Our main focus today was the Vimy memorial. Incredibly powerful spot and well worth the visit. We took in the tunnels and the trenches and were very surprised by how pockmarked the landscape was after 98 years or so. Huge craters everywhere. There are several Canadian cemeteries in the area as well. We took the car back but spent close to an hour driving around downtown Lille looking for the rental company. No signs anywhere! 4 December 2016...

Seidlitz Family Blog: Arrived home, having some changes
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015/07/arrived-home-having-some-changes.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Arrived home, having some changes. The last post that I had made was the final evening in Amsterdam. That next day we walked around and did some souvenir shopping then checked out of our hotel. If you ever go to Amsterdam, definitely consider staying at the Die Port Van Cleve. On landing in Toronto, I texted Wendy and determined that she was at a baseball game. Parker wasn't umpiring - he was playing! Bugs flying around the lights during a late game. Thing for the weeken...

Seidlitz Family Blog: Amsterdam
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015/06/amsterdam.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Today we walked everywhere. More than we ever did in Paris but less strenuous since there are very few stairs or hills. Lots of very small cars, lots of red light district women in the windows (I shuddered at many of them, especially during the day), and a few museums. Even took in the diamond factory. Too expensive for me. Eeyore got a new shirt. Here I am trying a pizza dog. Only 28.8 km walking today! 5 July 2015 at 11:40. Where are the Madurodam pictures? Friday afte...

Seidlitz Family Blog: July 2015
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. You don't see this every day. When I got out of the shower the other morning, as is my routine, I looked at the temperature outside to see what it was like. This is what I saw:. You'll notice that the temperature outside, showing in Celsius, is 58.7. And no, I wasn't just getting up at 9am. I was up just after 6 to take Wendy to work and to do some chores around the house. I seem to get less sleep now that I am unemployed. Arrived home, having some changes. He joined a t...

Seidlitz Family Blog: March 2015
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Adam has had a part time job for a few weeks preparing a brand new "No Frills" grocery store as it got ready to open. It is not far from Wendy's parents on the 'west mountain' in Hamilton/Ancaster. Today, the store opened for the first time and he also did his first all day shift. Here he is this morning not wanting to show us the front of his shirt - it had his name and a cute " smiley face. Although not a great image from Wendy's phone, here he is helping a customer.

Seidlitz Family Blog: Stained Glass
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/p/stained-glass.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. In the fall of 1998 I decided that I needed yet another hobby. For my artistic side to express itself, so I took up Stained Glass. I got a few books and looked up things on the internet then went straight to the glass store to get some supplies. After looking at the myriad types of glass available, I decided on a pattern and bought what I needed (actually, much more than I needed, but who knew! This 7" maple leaf is my most requested piece! Here is the online album.

Seidlitz Family Blog: April 2015
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Lots of things to update in this post. Wendy and I started with our group on the official 2015 Bruce Trail adventure! Turned out to be a great day (too warm for a jacket most of the day). Here is the whole crew for this adventure. The Bruce Trail hike 2015 begins! Eric, Wendy, Maddy, Theresa, Terry, Dave, and Nicole. When we got home after the long and hot hike, it felt positively freezing. To the party to meet us! I think three or four bottles were among the gifts.

Seidlitz Family Blog: Chartres, Le Mans, and Mont Saint-Michel
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/2015/06/chartres-le-mans-and-mont-saint-michel.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. Chartres, Le Mans, and Mont Saint-Michel. Sorry, couldn't post due to lack of wi-fi in the evening. Today we headed to Montparnasse station and picked up our rental car. We had booked a small car with standard transmission but opted for a more comfortable one with automatic. With the wild traffic in Paris and our sore feet, it was a good choice. This is the car we rented. Very comfortable! Off to Le Mans to visit the race museum. The big 24 hour race was about a week...

Seidlitz Family Blog: Eric
http://seidlitzfamily.blogspot.com/p/as-you-might-have-guessed-i-am-academic.html
A blog about the Seidlitz family. July 2012 Landmannalaugar, Iceland. As you might have guessed from some of the pages on this site, I am an academic who is proud to be called a geek! I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies (too many, perhaps? In addition to Stained Glass. By clicking on the page links (right) or reading below, you can learn more about some of the things that I like to do. I used to fly, but can't any more. Related things (which I always tried to combine with my photography. Yet a...
