Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. June 7-9, 2011 (Days 24-26): Mukuntuweap National Monument was the former name and designation of Zion National Park (1909). The name changed to Zion in 1919. Where everyone gathers by a creek for the night or nights at a time on their journey out west for the promise of work and wealth. At least we knew it would only be for one night and we’re doing a loop- west-eastish-to the pacific northwest. Click to share on Li...

Needles District | ChooseYourOwnAdventure
https://choosingmyownadventure.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/needles-district
Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. Now for a recap on our Canyonlands experience. First, I need to provide some details about our drive from Bryce Canyon to the Needle’s District (south east entrance) of Canyonlands. The drive was longer than we anticipated (we didn’t take much time to add up the mileage and do the math). However, we had some great experiences along the way. We saw dinosaurs- metal artwork dinosaurs. This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. July 9-13, 2011 (Days 56-60): My two month. We checked out the more frequented Rainbow Falls and the massively beautiful banyan tree. This slideshow requires JavaScript. We arrived at The End of the World (the name of the cliff jumping area) and were feeling uneasy as the only potential jumpers there. We spent over an hour evaluating the jump. The guidebook. And search for jobs. The “plan” is to volun...The plan is v...

A Sorta Fairy Tale | ChooseYourOwnAdventure
https://choosingmyownadventure.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/a-sorta-fairy-tale
Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. A Sorta Fairy Tale. This slideshow requires JavaScript. The drive from Zion to Bryce isn’t very long. We arrived in Bryce and claimed a campsite before our afternoon hike. We both found Bryce to be more magical and beautiful than Zion. Of course, we couldn’t check out the Narrows hike at Zion, but Bryce Canyon exudes magic; we felt as if we had entered into a fairy tale world. The hoodoos. It was filed under Random.

Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. June 13-16, 2011 (Days 30-33): One may already deem today as productive. Hanging out in Grand Junction, Colorado, Leanne. And I enjoyed hot showers for “as long as we wanted” at a local truck stop. Trip Goal: Shower at a truck stop. The last shower was at Bryce on Saturday. Five days later with globs of baby sunscreen. And sprays of deet. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window).

Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. June 28 – July 4, 2011 (Days 45-51): I flew to Hawaii on Tuesday, June 28. Hawaii became a part of my trip a few months ago when my friend, Kyle (another Tahoe friend), told me he was house-sitting for the summer on the Big Island. A free place in Hawaii? Obviously I had to buy a plane ticket for a free place to stay in Hawaii. So I did. There are eight islands that compose the state of Hawaii (the 50. Phew- that was...

Always remember, it’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons. June 17-22, 2011 (Days 34-39): I clearly failed at posting three posts in one day to make up for my lack of internet on my road tripping experience. So I’ll try again, today. Happy Independence Day. Really, it’s who’s in Lakewood- one of my good friends from my hometown of East Kingston. This is only one of the many examples of ridiculous street names in the area.
