A gateway can be likened to routines that take a message of one format as an input, and create another message with the same information in a different format. This type of functionality is vital to connecting networks that use different protocols. Benefits of using a good abstraction model. Knowing what will be good in the future is much a trial and error process and we can begin to understand the problem by diving into a pre-existing gateway.
