Since Alex never met my dad he was asking me all sorts of questions about him last night, It was really nice to think through and answer them and remember him. . . Favorite memories – I love that he could make the dorkiest thing cool in our eyes. I remember a time when I was pretty youngish still (8ish? I miss him so much, but I can look ba...

Learning to stand – Learning to trust…. Yearning to trust Jesus with my everything…. Archive for December, 2010. On December 22, 2010 Leave a Comment. Here are the main reasons I’m doing it. 1 He can communicate his needs to us before he can verbalize them. This alone is wonderful for many reasons, and for me reason enough to do it! This was the only reason I knew when I decided to do it with Elias, but as I have read more about it, there are so many more reasons to want to. 3 It makes them smarter!

It was so hard, the wort pain possible for hours and then it got worse and more intense for about 15 minutes as he made his exit. Such agony and pain but with almost immediate results. One time in life when you go through something hard and almost immediately get to see the benefit of it. Love him more everyday🙂.

Neither poverty nor riches. October 13, 2014. October 13, 2014. Scrolling through Instagram the other day, I saw a post by a girl I follow that got my attention. It drew me into the truth and showed me something I needed to see. Funny how the smallest things can catch your attention. I have dwelled on it for days and have lost count on the number of people I have shared it with. She posted Proverbs 30:7-9:. 8221; or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God. Can we feed them? 8217; And he s...

Five weeks ago, I did something I never thought I would do…. December 29, 2011. I stepped down as the Lead Girls Pastor at Generation Ministries. It’s hard to even type that statement, as I thought it would never be a reality. I guess I knew the day would come, but the fact that it has come and gone still steals some of my breath. Why did I make this decision? This season is different. But it is good. God is faithful. And I covet your prayers. As always. What I learned in the wilderness. Chan: My biggest...

What I learned in the wilderness. | something thoughtful
https://somethingthoughtful.wordpress.com/2011/12/01/what-i-learned-in-the-wilderness
What I learned in the wilderness. December 1, 2011. December 1, 2011. Over the past couple months, I feel like there has been an epidemic of Christians feeling like they are in the “wilderness” spiritually. They feel parched, dry, hard, and desolate. Me too. For whatever reason or purpose, spiritually I was feeling dehydrated and would cling and devour even a drop of knowing that God was near. And this time, in the wilderness, God was gracious enough to show me a purpose for it. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Knowledge and wisdom and strength. January 31, 2011. January 31, 2011. These three things are important. They are all important, and they are all important to each other. We need all three, and I pray for all three. As I talk about how God is teaching me about the nature and relationship of each of these, remember that I am no theologian. First of all, I had a question posed to me in a women’s ministry tea a couple weeks about what I thought the difference between knowledge and wisdom is? 8220;By wisdom ...

A Letter to the South Africa Team. January 13, 2014. January 13, 2014. To those who just came home from South Africa,. Now, you are back in America. Now, you are back in America. I know some of you might be struggling with being in America and seeing excess for what it is and dead hearts for what they are. I know it stings just reading the words, “Now, you are back in America.” And I said it twice! South Africa needs the love of Jesus. America does too. Be faithful wherever you are. Don’t lose heart. February 14, 2011. Facebook is a constant reminder of what my life may have looked like had a followed a “normal” path. I may have had a “normal” college experience. And yet, I find myself living a life far from normal. Don’t lose heart. For those reading this that have also given up a “normal” life:. Don’t lose heart. You a...

Learning to Squat in Shanghai. A letter lost in translation. September 2, 2010. Inevitably, when travelling in foreign lands, miscommunications and misunderstandings and, occassionaly, misadventures will occur. My misadventures tend to involve overnight transport.
