House of Noodles: June 2005
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Sunday, June 26, 2005. 1,458 Days and Counting! Figured I may as well officially kick off a new countdown for when I'll be finishing residency! With 2 days down, though, I must say, despite being on call my first night, things have started off well. I mean, not. But well. I've started my first month in the NICU- that wonderful place filled with beepers, buzzers, and bouncing teeny tiny babies who just couldn't. Posted by Michael H. at 6/26/2005 05:41:00 PM.

Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Monday, May 09, 2005. Appy Birthday to me. Hey yall, just thought I'd catch you up on the drama from yesterday. Here's the nutshell: Michael goes to mom and dad's for birthday lunch, Michael starts feeling. And feeling what seems to be sharp, intense pain at. Time at that stinkin place, I'm not spending my 30th freakin birthday there, too! So we left. Then last night, baaad fever and chills, feeling. Refreshing orange juice and pepto-bismol cocktail. I can't be...

House of Noodles: Trust me, it ain't Tender Love'n Care
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005/10/trust-me-it-aint-tender-loven-care.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Thursday, October 20, 2005. Trust me, it ain't Tender Love'n Care. Without question, this is the place in the hospital where the sickest of the sickest of the "mother of God, I can't believe they're even still breathing! And last night, being my first night on call there, I was in charge of all 20 of the current TLC patients. Of them. Here's how it went down. Ok, see ya- good luck! Great, thanks." (Inner monologue: 'I'm dooooooomed.'). Liesel's reminded me, I h...

House of Noodles: On life, death, and love
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005/09/on-life-death-and-love.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Sunday, September 11, 2005. On life, death, and love. Being post-call today after my latest 27 hr shift (4-5 hrs of sleep, though), I came home at around 10 this morning. I grabbed a couple extra winks, woke up just after noon, and flipped on the TV. First some C-Span to watch the 9/11 commemorations, and then a truly excellent program on the National Geographic channel called. Posted by Michael H. at 9/11/2005 02:10:00 PM. Feeling a bit Tolkish, I suppose?

House of Noodles: July 2005
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Tuesday, July 26, 2005. Thought I'd address yesterday's comments really quickly. I'm feeling really lucky to be home tonite- I'm on "short call" q4 this month, meaning I only have to stay until 8:00 on my call nights, the first of which was tonite, and I was outta there at 8 on the button. Couldn't make better. Yep, a beach! But while it's still summery, we're gonna make the most of it. In fact, we may be investing in a grill to cook up some. Minutes. Liter...

House of Noodles: August 2005
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Dracula would be proud. I think it's the mix of horror and surprise that makes it such a thrill for me, like watching. Friday the 13th in 3D. I instead say "Hooray, he's bleeding! And the self-induced warm fuzzy feeling makes me deal with it in a much more level-headed manner. I find myself using that a lot so far this year in a host of settings. Like in the NICU: "Yes! Those are my favorite kind! See what I'm driving at here? From t...

House of Noodles: A Change of Seasons
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005/11/change-of-seasons.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Tuesday, November 15, 2005. A Change of Seasons. Rather than ramble on about work (it's going well, by the way, especially since I'm currently doing my one month of Anesthesia for the year. and it's fantastic), I thought I'd share a few pictures from the past month. Particularly notable are the last few: for the record, the first snow of the year was this evening, November 15th, 2005! And yes, I'm still gonna try biking to work tomorrow. We'll see how. Madison,...

House of Noodles: September 2005
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Sunday, September 25, 2005. A blog about nothing. Well if there's anyone still following along with me on this crazy blog after a 2 week hiatus, first off, you're nuts, and second off, thanks! It's been a pretty back-breaking couple of weeks with work and all that jazz, on overnight call every third night lately. Nonetheless, things are moving along smoothly. Only 3 weeks left of general surgery, then back to the main UW hospital for a month of ICU fun. Um, not...

House of Noodles: February 2005
http://houseofnoodles.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Keeping the world up on how I'm keeping up! Thursday, February 17, 2005. Changes aren't permanent. but change is! Well, a month from today I will know where we'll be headed next year. My rank list is due officially in 6 days, but our dean wants us to submit it in 3 days to avoid any last minute disasters that could occur on the submission website. Oh, there I go waxing all philosophical again. :). And the yeast infection in her ears is all but gone, now only having a little ear wax, just like her papa.
