Wednesday, September 22, 2010. A critique of Academic Feminism. I guess what I am trying to say is that in an effort to achieve solidarity, we should not necessarily focus on this MY/YOUR dualism (that really does not exist) instead, perhaps we should value the politics of others because they are feminist issues (even if they do not directly affect us). For those who don't know what this is, it is a collection of interdisciplinary graduate students coming together to present their perspective Master papers to peers. All the presentations have their merits, some more polished then others, but all of the presentations leave attendees feeling inspired and excited for the future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Roddick, Ruby and Body Image. RIP, Anita Roddick. Posted on September 11, 2007 by kateharding. Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop. Has died of a brain hemorrhage at 64. Roddick was well-known for her charity work and her amazing efforts to make it clear that The Body Shop has corporate values other than profit. La Feminista Mafia: July 2008
http://la-feminista-mafia.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 31, 2008. Just wondering why is it when women express some sort of strength, power, rebellion or act outside of what we are “supposed” to, it’s labelled as a syndrome? Battered-women syndrome.what else is she supposed to do? Sit there and take his shit all the time? Is she not acting logically? Violent-girls syndrome.what the eff is that anyway? When teenage boys are being violent and getting into fights it’s a normal part of them turning into men.why the double standard? I walk into a room.
