A Journey at the Intersection of Legacy and Living. November 25, 2014. Stories matter mine does, yours do. But we all have different ways of telling our stories. From apple picking to Zamboni driving, we weave our tapestries in unique ways from one another thank the Good Lord. How boring this place would be without the variety! You know when you find a necklace at the bottom of a suitcase and it seems hopelessly tangled? This brings me to our new project: writinginpencil.com. I think you’ll see that it’s...

Sometimes blog addresses barely fit their name, their purpose graduating from original intent to somethingelse wings of its author transporting it to a new path. Not so with leavingmemorylane. Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage. Saturday, October 16, 2010. Dear Caleb (A Letter From Your Cat). I must share a few things that make me view you as the most peculiar little boy. First off- I don't understand why you still call me "cat"- even though you know so many words and names- and every adult refers to me as "Summit". I know "cat" was your first word.but really, if you're going to keep saying,. Cat wash hands; poop! Upon my bolting out of the litter box. You're so silly. Nnnnnzzzz; laundry's done!

Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Toes, Teeth, a Tush, and a Tail. As adults, we miss the "interesting" in what we see day-to-day. 160;Thank goodness for infants, who remind us that each body part, nature element, and experience all have one-of-a-kind components to them. This month Caleb has discovered a few of these wonders. . 160;At first I thought Caleb's seemingly instant fascination with his ten little piggies came due. Already know what my. 160;They're little and in diff...
Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage: Changes in Weather?
http://calebandsummit.blogspot.com/2009/10/changes-in-weather.html
Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage. Thursday, October 8, 2009. I wonder if weather and seasons affect everyone's outlook and mood like they do mine. Probably didn't even know what he was missing. I think I posted earlier this year during spring's beginning.sharing how much I love that season's promise of growth. The promise of fall lies in change. And NO, I am not responding to the current political slogans and all! That life and such will continue to cycle in the rhythm of centuries past and to come.

Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage: "Gatz" = Vac
http://calebandsummit.blogspot.com/2010/04/gatz-vac.html
Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage. Monday, April 26, 2010. I finally had to relocate the vacuum cleaner to an undisclosed (to my 20-month old) location: behind the guest bedroom's closed door. For about a week, every morning, Caleb had woken up and begun his trek down the hallway to the kitchen for his first sip of milk from the fridge.only to stop at the coat closet and grab my hand, point, and repeatedly say, "Gatz, gatz! Day 1, week 2: "More, more! Plug in, turn on! Day 2, week 2: "Gatz, gatz! I had wond...

Caleb's Corner; Summit's Stage. Saturday, January 31, 2009. A Reader, Let's Hope! Every parent wants her child to fall in love with reading. . 160;Especially me- but I think 66% of that hope is for selfish reasons. First, I never really enjoyed reading myself. In elementary school, I always viewed myself as a slow reader, so this affected my confidence and enjoyment. The only time I remember truly craving books is when I became addicted to the Baby Sitters' Club. Become a reader. If I have a...160;We...

Leaving me speechless
Saturday, January 15, 2011. Would I rather have a harder life than I expected but KNOW KNOW KNOW Christ. Have an easier life, but not REALLY know Him. I recently had a night where I was throwing up all night and in between each bathroom trip I made for myself, I made one for Tucker.who was having diarrhea.and couldn't quite make it to the toilet which meant a lot of clean up for me. I was feel ridiculously sorry for myself. I was telling God how my life had become something that I had NOT signed up for.

Leaving Microsoft to Change the World. Was published in 2006, I have been incredibly touched by people's reactions to the book and am thrilled to know that so many individuals share my belief in the power of education. I believe that the world needs more action-oriented optimists, and together, many thousands of us have created such a community around both Room to Read. The organization is now one of the fastest growing, most effective, and award-winning non-profits of the last decade. John has been ...
