Sunday, 31 January 2010. How far would you go? Over the last couple of days I've been reading a book by Peter James called 'Dead Tomorrow'. It's a tale of Romanian street children being kidnapped and killed to provide organs to transplant patients in the UK (and elsewhere), and it gave me pause for thought. How far would you go to save your child's life? Links to this post. Saturday, 30 January 2010. As my birthday is mid-week this year, Mr.B took me out for birthday fika here today:. Our original intent...

Monday, 12 April 2010. A return. of sorts. Sometimes my capacity for sheer laziness shocks and appalls me. Fingers crossed I can get over my natural inclination towards indolence and the novelty of having time to myself again after all these years. Otherwise it's just going to be 15 hours of surfing the net, twittering, playing games and drinking coffee. Actually, that sounds rather good. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Friday, 24 April 2009. The Hippopotamus by Stephen Fry. What the cover says:. Ted Wallace is an old, sour, womanising, cantankerous, whisky-sodden beast of a failed poet and drama critic, but he has his faults too. Fired from his newspaper, months behind on his alimony payments and disgusted with a world that undervalu...

What I'm reading today. Saturday, 28 March 2009. Everything and the Moon by Julia Quinn. What the cover says:. When Robert Kemble stumbles across Victoria Lyndon in a hedgerow maze, he can't believe his eyes. The girl who'd torn him in tow - who let him plan an elopement and then left him standing by the side of the road - is suddenly within arm's reach, and still impossible to resist. But now Robert won't take no for an answer, and vows to make her his, through any means possible. Links to this post.

Monday, 8 March 2010. Not quite what I intended. We discovered Simon and Tomas not long after we arrived here, and it was the first piece of non-UK or US TV that we really watched. They are a pair of interior designers (similar-ish to Colin and Justin. Anyway, as they weren't on this evening, I can't write about them. As you were. Sveriges Fulaste Hem - Sweden's Ugliest Home). Wednesday, 5 May 2010. For reasons completely and utterly unknown, it seemed like a really good idea last week to see if I could blip a song I liked by a band beginning with each letter of the alphabet. So 2 and a half weeks later I finally made it to the end and in case you missed any, here they all are with an accompanying Spotify playlist. A: Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful. B: Blur - Coffee and TV. C: Cure - Lovecats. D: Dinosaur Jr. - Start Choppin'. E: Electrasy - Morning Afterglow. Musings of a N...

Monday, 16 March 2009. A letter from my daughter. My lovely 7 year old wrote me a letter today, it's quite long and rambling (and occasionally repetitive), but here are some of the best bits with the original spelling:. I will never never ever go away from you becuase you are the greateset mummy enyone could ever have. And you are very helpful and polite. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry as I read it, but will certainly be keeping it to show her when she's 18 and can't wait to leave home. How can th...
