Friday, February 22, 2013. Submitted by shiharan choudhury. So here is the circuit, which can drive a 5mm Led from the 230v AC. As you can see, the above circuit is extremely simple as it uses only a few handful electronic components. Now for powering an led from 230V AC mains you just need a Diode (IN4007) and a limiting Resistor. Now the value of the resistor varies according to the color of the LED used. Hence it's value can be calculated using the following formula. Here is the video of the circuit.
