The Town of Ledyard. 20th Century to Today. Officers, Committees, and Appointed Positions. The Web Home of the Ledyard Historical Society. 20th Century to Today. Ledyard Through the 20th Century to Today. A small town hall was built adjacent to the Congregational Church in the 1930s. Town meetings were still held in the church or, later, one of the schools, until the present municipal building was constructed in 1956. It has since been enlarged several times.

Founded in 1964, the Ledyard Historical Society seeks to preserve and protect the history of Ledyard and Gales Ferry, Connecticut, to educate and promote pride in our town’s cultural heritage. The Ledyard Historical Society meets four times per year, usually in March, May, October and December, with lectures and presentations.
