Ben's House of Random. It's like a stew. a little bit of everything. ONTaQ #4: Managed C and Unmanaged Libraries. Sunday, August 16 2009 - One New Thing A Week. This isn’t the next One New Thing a Quarter I thought I’d be writing, but I’ve learned some things on this topic that I want to record, as much for myself as for anyone. This started with an offhand remark on the Polymorphic Podcast. It’s a lot more tolerable for me to listen to them this way. So I’ve refactored my approach… what I w...There are ...

For my One New Thing a Week #2 post, the Drag and Drop Helper class. Sorry about the delay. If anyone knows their XAML and stuff like this, I can’t figure out why the XAML parser doesn’t love my RoutedEvents the code works FINE, but the parser had the red squigglies. Ben's House of Random. It's like a stew. a little bit of everything. Note for myself…. Sunday, April 05 2009 - Development. A WPF StackPanel has an infinte size in the direction of its orientation, so putting an Orientation= Horizontal stackpanel with a horizontal WrapPanel inside of it will result in the wrapping never kicking in! I think I’m STARTING to get the WPF layout thing. At least I understand why people are using Grid a lot. My sister's adventure blog. My Del.icio.us Links.

Here shortly and keep this blog only for the non-technical things nobody else cares about. I can’t say for sure when I’m making the transition, though I’ve got some site integration issues to work out along with a lot of other stuff keeping me busy, including CodeMash. OK, so the title is a little bit disingenuous, but I’m trying to get back in the swing of things. One New thing a Quarter would be more accurate, but to make up for it, there’s more than one new thing in this week. Is raised on the source control when the helper wants your control to put some data up for Drag and Drop. It’s up ...Is rai...

Ben's House of Random. It's like a stew. a little bit of everything. Adventures in Alpha Phone Operating Systems 2. Sunday, June 28 2009 - Development. So I’ve been living with the cooked ROM of Windows Mobile 6.5 for several days now and so far I’m quite pleased! 160; Most of the limitations are from the 2 year old device (only a 200 MHz proc and 50 MB of program ram). . That isn’t a constant drain on the battery but I do use the Edge quite a bit and I think I could squeeze at least 3 days out on a full...

Through the magic of the control and WPF’s 2 way data binding, your listing is now updated! One strange/irritating thing is that even though the ink stuff is more or less a 1st class control now in WPF, you still need to include some obscure references to get handwriting recognition. Thanks to the hard work of people at the xda-developers. Over the next week or so, I’ll post some of my impressions of using it. So far, it’s QUITE good! 160; It’s almost like someone spent a lot of time with an iPhone and copied a bunch of ideas. OK, so that was kind of harsh, but somewhat true and it’s exactly what they needed to do. . I’m really hopi...
