Dallas City Hall (5/3/2008, 星期六). Dallas City Hall (1500 Marilla Street Dallas, TX)位於Downtown, 當天因為Kim在大達拉斯亞裔商會(GDAACC)上班, 該商會當天舉辦園遊會及歌舞表演, 所以特別跑去湊熱. Allen Premium Outlet (04/11/09, Sat). Allen Mall 位於Mckinney City, 75號公路往北開Exit37, Stacy Road出口往左開, Outlet就在右手邊, 從Irving出發加上交通大約要1小時20分的車程. 比起到San Marcos行程約4小時, 可是近多了. 適逢復活節假期, 購物人潮相當踴躍, 花了2個多小時才走完. 無巧不巧還在Clark鞋店碰到前2任會長Kiki小姐跟朋友一起大血拼, 世界也實太小了, 這Kiki小姐是Allen Mall的常客, 去年感恩節她和Yaya特別開車到San Marcos, 趁著午夜去排隊, 當天還下雪, 就這樣通宵未眠為了搶便宜貨, 精神實在可佳, 我和克拉先生還是覺得好好睡一覺, 就很快樂了! 發怖時間 6/11/2009 03:05:00 PM. Election Day (11/4, Tuesday). 美國總統的選舉不似台灣特別選在假日投票, 投票當日竟然還要上班, 而投票當日居家附近也不像電視報導大城市內大批人潮排隊的盛況, 喝喝, 德州真是幅員遼闊. 說到選舉當日, 不只有選總統, 還有參議員, 衆議員, 法官等, 說到這我真珮服這些在地人, 很多居民是不看電視, 選舉也不像台灣競選車大街小巷喧鬧亂竄, 不過在台灣即便吵雜的競選活動, 投票時還是讓我搞不清楚誰是誰, 政見是什? 問了敎會的一些美國朋友, 他們還真是有各自的想法主張, 這些常識都從看報或網路裡得來嗎? 另外還有一個投票就是你居住的COUNTY是否可以賣酒. 來到美國兩年多才發覺很多觀念都是錯, 以前以為禁酒令是各縣市政府決定自家是否賣酒, 這官員權限真大, 這些利益團體,酒商們不會抗議嗎? 發怖時間 11/05/2008 10:35:00 PM. Grapevine (11/27, Thursday-Thanksgiving Day). 感恩節這天, 全美放假一天, 我們來到Grapevine做了一趟戶外之旅. 第一次在海外觀賞來自台灣文化訪問團的表演, 油然而生的親切感, 令人掬起一絲對台灣歸屬感, 備感思鄉之切. 尤其在表演結束全場觀眾揮舞著國旗, 內心令人澎湃不已. 采風樂團表演特色是將中國古典傳統樂器二胡, 揚琴, 笛子, 琵琶, 古箏, 阮, 還有嗩吶以搖滾風呈現另類音樂風格, 這些年輕朋友熟稔俐落, 非常活潑又極具動感的樂器演出, 看的海峽對岸的同胞直誇把東方樂器的藝術境界做了不同層次的提升. 匪夷所思的是以往用於喪葬吹奏的嗩吶, 高亢旋律搭配著音樂的演奏震撼人心不已(請欣賞影片). 發怖時間 11/04/2008 05:37:00 PM.
