Maulik's Technical Art Blog: January 2012
http://leftbulb.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
25 January, 2012. Notes: Building a multi-way (group) constraint. The first challenge we encounter when building a two-way constraint is the cyclic dependency. However, that's not really the main and only issue. It is possible to create connections and do calculations in such a way that we can avoid this cyclic dependency. The real challenge is that we can't really have true. This is an important question and more so because the final state is the sum of transformations of both nodes. 12 January, 2012.
Maulik's Technical Art Blog: GroupConstraint Intro Demo!
http://leftbulb.blogspot.com/2012/06/groupconstraint-intro-demo.html
24 June, 2012. Finally, here is a demo of the dynamic multi-way constraint system that I have been working on. Following are some of the features of this constraint system:. Multi-way constraint allows invertible relationship without cycle issues. The driver of the system can be animated. Only one keyframe required for switching the driver. All the follower nodes can be animated while constrained by driver of the system. Auto matching for drivers at switching frames to avoid popping nodes effect. Glad u ...
Maulik's Technical Art Blog: Bottom-up rigging approach & Decoupling rigs

06 September, 2012. Bottom-up rigging approach and Decoupling rigs. In programming it's a good practice to keep the objects of the system independent so that changing one does not require to change the others. This is highly applicable to Rigging as well. If you are more into programming you should read Design Patterns. By the Gang of Four. It's an excellent read. 03 October, 2012 21:34. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I want to conquer my mind. Maulik's Technical Art Blog: March 2012
http://leftbulb.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
10 March, 2012. The biggest challenge and what will actually be the backbone for many of the features is linked with detecting animation events. Exo Switch Constraint also utilizes callback functions to detect keying on the driver (master) node. However, I intend to use it for different purposes and it will allow me to correct any pop at the switching points when animation is updated. There are two options available in Maya to listen on animation update events:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Maulik's Technical Art Blog: May 2012
http://leftbulb.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
22 May, 2012. One of the key features of the constraint system I am developing is auto correction of "pop effect" when animation changes. This problem is quite complex due to a lot of different scenarios involved and based on how Maya architecture is designed. User can update keys in the graph editor at any time value, this does not cause the compute since you might be on a frame that is not related to the changes. Hence we have to detect this as animation callback. This means that when animation for a s...

Tinkering with Motion: Big Updates.....
http://scamardella.blogspot.com/2010/08/big-updates.html
Friday, August 13, 2010. Yes, I took a bit of a hiatus from the blog upkeep, but I'm back yet again! Quite a lot has changed in the past few months and it's been pretty. Crazy First of all, I successfully earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from SCAD! I graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned an Outstanding Achievement Award in Animation! I'm really glad I was able to finish off strong and was able to stave off the dreaded "Senioritis" altogether. More updates about Focus. Now with college over and...
Tinkering with Motion: March 2010
http://scamardella.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 31, 2010. It's Been Awhile.again. I'm now in Spring quarter, taking portfolio and post production for senior film classes, so I might have some work from there to post in a bit. On another note, I did get together a rigging reel recently, so that'll cover showing off the final Rupert rig as well as a MEL/Python scripting project I've got going, among a couple other rigs and animations (most animations are not mine). So for now, enjoy that, and I'll have another post shortly.I hope.

Monday, October 19, 2009. Thursday, October 8, 2009. Here's the final turn-in version for my force animation. This is for my 3D Character Animation 2 class. I still have a few pops/ glitches to work out in certain areas, but for now I need to focus on my senior film for a bit, so it'll have to wait a few days. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thoughts on Software Development. Craziness that goes in my mind when I am developing/designing software. Saturday, February 5, 2011. Cliché : Hello World. I still like using this title :). My wife has proposed a great idea and we have started planning on how to realize this idea. Hopefully if time goes well this idea will start shaping into what we have imagined :). Thoughts on Software Development: Calling a function with different context in JavaScript
http://mauliksw.blogspot.com/2012/10/calling-function-with-different-context.html
Thoughts on Software Development. Craziness that goes in my mind when I am developing/designing software. Monday, October 22, 2012. Calling a function with different context in JavaScript. In JavaScript it is possible to call a function with different context, i.e. a different object instead of the object of the defining function. We can think of context as scope. So the question is what happens when we change the context when calling a function? This technique is called "Delegation" since we are delegat...

So here it is, in an attempt to learn, educate, and keep myself motivated, I will post here the journey that is learning how to rig. As an amateur attempting to break into CGI, feature film and the world of character setup art, I will be diving headfirst into an endeavor that will ideally someday turn into a career. So here is a little of my history:. Along with other excellent information.

Wednesday, August 6, 2014. So you know what I do. I set the alarm and then cancel it! I think I will have some ME time, but it will just have to be later. Although this is kind of my 5 minutes of alone time. That's enough right. Anyways, I am not sure where this is going to take me, but I know I need to be less scared and jump in with both feet. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Time for a change. Is this all I am? So where do I start, where do I go from here, what do I do to feel whole again?
