I've finally found a brownie recipe that I like! 10 Tblspns unsalted butter (not necessarily at room temp). 1 1/4 cups sugar. 3/4 cup 2 Tblspns unsweetened cocoa powder. 1/4 rounded tspn salt. 1 tspn vanilla extract. 2 lrg eggs - cold. Position an oven rack in the lower third of the oven and heat to 325°. Grease 8×8 pan (or line with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang for easy release).
