http://mylawschooljournal.blogspot.com/2009/04/does-anybody-else-feel-like-were-living.html
Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Does anybody else feel like we're living through the first chapter of The Stand? Just Monday, for the first time ever, the World Health Organization raised the influenza pandemic alert to level 4. Today (well, technically yesterday since it's just after midnight) they raised it to level 5. Here's the level and link to the statement by the WHO's director-general, Dr. Margaret Chan:. Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Friday, May 1, 2009. Swine flu: an overrreaction or not getting the whole story? Yet at the same time, we're supposed to treat the patients suspected of having swine flu exactly the same as we treat other patients suspected of having the regular flu. In other words, no special precautions beyond the mask and not having them wait in the waiting room. Q&A: Why is swine flu such a big deal? NBC’s Robert Bazell sorts the facts from the fears. Influenza is virus tha...

Random Ramblings About Life and Law School : It's a brand new day!
http://mylawschooljournal.blogspot.com/2009/01/its-brand-new-day.html
Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. It's a brand new day! I had to see it for myself. I taped both CNN and CNBC. I'm not sure why. Overjoyed as I have been all day that Bush is no longer president, it wasn't until just now, as I was watching President Obama take the oath of office on CNN, that it finally felt like we have a new president. That he is now President Obama, he is now the President of the United States. The chorus "Oh, happy day! Keeps running through my head.

Random Ramblings About Life and Law School : At last...
http://mylawschooljournal.blogspot.com/2009/01/at-last.html
Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Monday, January 19, 2009. Today is the last day of the worst presidency in American history. Tomorrow, the first day of hope in a long, long time. My Con Law professor knows someone who took Con Law from Barack Obama when he was still teaching. One day, as an example of the greatness of this democracy, Obama said to his class "Hey, one day even I might be president! And how fitting that he would prove them all wrong the day after Martin Luther King Day. Law v L...

Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Saturday, January 3, 2009. Wow, it's been a while! My last post was about 3 or 4 weeks ago, so I figured I owed it to my both of my readers to post a little update. ;). Much more organized in actually writing it, which was kind of disappointing. If anything, I was more aware of how disorganized I was and how many more issues I wanted to address but couldn't! What do I do now? Anyway, I hope everyone did well last semester! I'm a 30-something woman who is workin...

Random Ramblings About Life and Law School : It's the waiting that gets you
http://mylawschooljournal.blogspot.com/2009/01/its-waiting-that-gets-you.html
Random Ramblings About Life and Law School. Monday, January 5, 2009. It's the waiting that gets you. I don't know about you, but I'm guessing you also have to wait for your grades to pop up on Campus Cruiser or some other kind of internet program. Back in undergrad we got the old-fashioned report cards. Although you had to wait seemingly forever for them, at least you got your grades all at once. What's interesting is that I got the highest grade I've gotten so far in " The Exam. THAT makes me jealous.

Professional Responsibility Blog: Recent case discusses what makes screening "ineffective"
http://bernabepr.blogspot.com/2015/05/recent-case-discusses-what-makes.html
Professor Alberto Bernabe - The John Marshall Law School. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Recent case discusses what makes screening "ineffective". A new case in which the court found that screening mechanisms would not be effective in a case involving the hiring of a paralegal from another firm even though the court found that the firm’s screening measures “mirror and, sometimes exceed, screens approved in other cases.” The case is called Ullman v Denco and it is available here.
