Newer posts ». 14 – 17 January 2011. What a shock. India was not what I expected. The next day the place looked a bit better with the light of day – but not much. So we moved to the other side where we hoped there would be more tourists and we would be able to blend in a bit easier. We explored the botanic gardens which were supposed to be highlight and were compared to the beauty of Kew gardens. Turns out it is nothing like Kew gardens. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 9 – 14 January. 4 – 9 January. The new year...

Life in an Ashram… | Jess and Steph

Sand, surf and wickets. Back to El Nido. Life in an Ashram…. Laxman Juhla, Reshikesh, India. 17 – 26 February 2011. We took 2 eventful days to get here. And what a journey it was. We had a fun night in Port Blair with Xander who introduced us to a local restaurant. They had the funniest custom, if there is a girl at the table you can order alcohol as it is considered a ‘family table’ but if you are group of guys you need to go to the bar next door to drink. Can you imagine us not talk for most fo the day?

Life in an Ashram…. Visiting the Christchurch crew. Back to El Nido. El Nido, Philippines. 28 Feb to 10 March 2011. Before heading back to Australia for Liv and Matt’s wedding we thought we would head back to our favourite place for a week or two. The journey back to El Nido was long but so worth it. After 3 hours someone volunteered to take the next flight which was 3 days later. We all piled into the little plane and we took off over the bay. Was such a lovely flight but a little bumpy. Beaches, Russian’s, nice architecture and lots of cows – Goa. Life in an Ashram…. Sand, surf and wickets. Havelock, Andaman Islands, India. 26th January – 17th February 2011. This place was heaven. White sandy beaches, not too many people, no staring, hardly any traffic. Oh the relief! The accommodation here is quite expensive compared to the mainland and we struggled to find a nice place that was in our price range. We ended up in a bamboo hut which was ok (although the sheets were very questionable!

Visiting the Christchurch crew. Home again to see everyone. 14 March – 19 April 2011. A month back in Australia went faster than I thought it could. I had planned to do so many things but didn’t have time to do half of it. We caught up with a lot of people but not everyone unfortunately. We’ll be back for the next visit in December which is not that far away. Hopefully we can see everyone then…. Photos can be found here…. http:/ www.flickr.com/photos/mcgillet/. Feed for this Entry.
