Who Said Anything About Common Sense?: Fooled You!
http://leiacellaa23.blogspot.com/2010/04/fooled-you.html
Monday, April 26, 2010. So there for a while, I was posting almost regularly! Bet you though I was gonna keep it up, didn't you? Just kidding.it's been super busy these past few weeks. Really, I'll get back to posting here shortly. I've got at least one book review that's overdue, another one due soon, one more "deep pondering" that's been percolating for a while (having to do, ironically, with book reviewing), and some fun stuff from the kids. On a funny note, I had that "Fooled You! I'm a Company Girl!

Who Said Anything About Common Sense?: Operation Christmas Child Hits Home
http://leiacellaa23.blogspot.com/2009/11/operation-christmas-child-hits-home.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. Operation Christmas Child Hits Home. So today we collected the filled shoeboxes. From the church to take to the collection site. Including ours, there were 78! A little down from last year, but I know that there are several folks out there just planning to bring the boxes to the collection site themselves, so we didn't do so badly. Planting the seeds early.). To which I replied, not sure how much he understood, "No, Buddy, that's a present for a little boy or a little girl so...
Who Said Anything About Common Sense?: Shoeboxes!
http://leiacellaa23.blogspot.com/2010/11/shoeboxes.html
Thursday, November 18, 2010. So it's National Collection Week for Operation Christmas Child. Our church's official "turn in your box" day was Sunday, so I gave it a few days to let the last of the stragglers come in, then I picked them up today (all 109 of them! Except this year I knew better than to talk about the individual things that were in it and how much fun the boy or girl who got that box would have with them. And that was when the tears came. Again. But I'm still proud of my little man. Giv...
Who Said Anything About Common Sense?: Feeling Obligated to Post
http://leiacellaa23.blogspot.com/2010/10/feeling-obligated-to-post.html
Friday, October 01, 2010. Feeling Obligated to Post. So I haven't posted much in a while. It wasn't intentional, life's just happened. A lot. And I haven't felt like talking about it necessarily. Nothing bad, just too busy to ponder deep ponderings or come up with witty things to say. But occasionally real people are clicking through from my comments on Stuff Christians Like. Or just stopping by on their own. So I thought maybe I should post something. Especially considering that NaBloPoMo.

KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Five
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-five.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Saturday, October 5, 2013. I have spent most of Furlough Day Five sitting in a chair under a tree at Grace's Fall Festival, and it was HOT. Oh, I did chunk a pumpkin! I ended the day with a group of adults and kids my family has grown to love in a very short time, our small group. If you are looking for a church or small group, I have a recommendation for you. The Shoger family came with us so I needed to "visit" instead of help. How's that for an excuse? We will do wh...
KimmieG in DC: Furlough
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Nope, but that is why I believe and trust in a God who owns it all! One of my favorite quotes from Beth Moore, "There is nothing over my head that's not under God's feet.". One thing we will not sacrifice is Georgia's school. Sending her to public school is an option we will not entertain. If push comes to shove, I will home school her. Georgia is thriving in her school! This is her "thing" along with basketball. I love her pucker!
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Two
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-two.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Well, it's day two. I have boxes to finish today and will hopefully get them to the Salvation Army before picking up my G. Rick took G to school today so the Soph and I are chillin' with Pumpkin Spice coffee. The house is open and the fresh air smells wonderful! I'm not concerned about the lack of money, but should I be? I'm not worried about how long I'll be out of work, but should I be? I have watched them! My parents have always lived out...
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Seven
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-seven.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Monday, October 7, 2013. Monday.I don't have to go to work. Well, I do have to work at home. This week started my shoebox cleaning. What is a shoebox? The loving name I call my two story townhouse with a 1,000 square feet that holds three people, two short hair domestics and a Beagle. Back to the cleaning thing. You know the type of cleaning where you wipe down and vacuum everything in a room? Another day of furloughing complete! I'll talk more about the furlough and go...
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Nine
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-nine.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Wednesday, October 9, 2013. I have been a cleaning machine! Since the weather has gotten colder, Soph has taken over my favorite blanket. We are going to need to talk about that one, LOL! Soph has become a sweet cuddle buddy. I am going to miss this sweet face when I go back to work. As of yesterday, Soph has been with us for four months. It has been so much fun! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My favorite photo of the two of us! I love her pucker!
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Twelve
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-twelve.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Saturday, October 12, 2013. It's been awhile since we've cooked a big family breakfast at home on a Saturday. So, I cooked bacon, eggs, and biscuits for the family this morning. G helped me cook this morning. I love hanging out with my family! I ran to the Walmart in Columbia since it is next to Panera. Never again! Thankfully, the Customer Service desk refunded my milk money. Rick took G for her Upwards Evaluation. At Evaluation Day, they measure the each player's...
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Thirteen
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-thirteen.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Sunday, October 13, 2013. So far, the only depressing thing about this furlough is the six days straight of rain we've had! Go away, please! The bright spot today was lunch with one of our favorite families. We love spending time with the Shogers. : ). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My favorite photo of the two of us! G was 6 months old. There are other favorites, but this is still number one! I love her pucker! View my complete profile. Grace Adventures Day Camp.
KimmieG in DC: Furlough Day Eight
http://kimmiegindc.blogspot.com/2013/10/furlough-day-eight.html
A Mississippi Girl's Crazy DC life! Tuesday, October 8, 2013. It's been a week! This furlough doesn't affect only government workers. Contractors cannot work because there is no money for the contract they are under. Some can't work because they are not allowed in a closed government building. Most contractors will have to use their vacation time in order to get paid, which can mess up travel plans for the holidays. Thankfully, I am a government worker who will eventually her money! G received a room mak...

Who Said Anything About Common Sense?
Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Ever since I was pregnant with AJ, I've been horrified quite frequently as I perused the offerings in many children's clothing stores. Bibs that said "Brat," shirts that said "Diva," items that proclaimed loud and proud how the CHILD was the one in charge! After no one took my idea and ran with it, I finally came up with some designs myself. Thanks to the internetz, creating, selling, and distributing custom clothing is easy! Also with applicable Scriptures included.). So I r...
