Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Things Taken for Granted. While in Italy I discovered that I take many things for granted. 1 Showers large enough to shave your legs in. (No wonder Europeans are such hair balls! 2 Free tap water at restaurants. 3 Free sitting at restaurants. 5 Full iPhone functionality at my disposal. 6 Queen size (soft) beds. Two twin beds smashed together does not equal a king. 7 Not being on an airplane. 14 Washing machines and dryers. 17 Really good desserts. 20 Flat irons and blow dryers.

Ajax's Whimsical Revolution: March 2012

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. - Mohandas Gandhi. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. I think it is interesting how much work and worry we put into energy, both fossil fuel and renewable. What would you say if I told you that there have already been countless civilizations who have mastered renewable, clean energy? What is life all about anyway? Couldn't we accomplish the core purposes without the Internet, the Kindle, Facebook, and Dancing with the Stars? We don't even know what the core purp...

You must be the change you wish to see in the world. - Mohandas Gandhi. Friday, June 29, 2012. How to fix everything. I found an interesting quote in a comment string under a news article regarding a current political event. The quote was posted as follows:. The average age of the world’s great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence:. Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747-1813). I can’t picture what it would look like, and I hope it doesn̵...

Thursday, September 13, 2012. Things I've Learned About/From Being Pregnant. 1 Stretch pants do indeed have a limit. They are NOT one size fits all. 2 Carpal tunnel makes you feel like a clumsy weirdo. Even more so if "clumsy weirdo" is your normal state. 3 Charlie Horses have no business creeping up on someone while they're asleep. 4 The flood gates really do open and all hell breaks loose on your emotions. Here come the waterworks. 7 The phrase, "anyday now" should be taken out of the English language.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Travel, Disappointment, New Opportunities, and Hair Plugs. Recently we made the trek to Austin to find our new home. For those of you who don't know, Evan got accepted to graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin. Anyway, so the plan was to go to Austin, look for houses, put an offer in and we'd be moving into our first (owned) house and be poor for the next 6 years. Everyone told me Austin was an amazing city and I'll love it. I just saw a city. A plain old e...It wa...

Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Crafty Aspirations and Failure to Launch. I sit here and I think, I could probably make a super cute blanket out of this fabric, or paint a cool design on this canvas, or make an awesome collage with my new Cricut. Then I think, Finn! Don't eat that bug! Don't pull those cords! Please stop clawing on my skin to get to my phone on the other side of me. So to those mothers out there who craft, clean, shower and have kids. You are awesome! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Ottesens: Change of Plans
http://jackieandevan.blogspot.com/2013/07/change-of-plans.html
Friday, July 19, 2013. After a lot of thought, prayer and discussion, Evan and I have decided that our plan to go to Austin for graduate school was not right for our family at this time. We've decided that Evan is going to apply to be an officer in the Air Force and we're so excited for this new chapter in our lives! I'll try to answer all of the questions that seem to be the ones most people ask:. Evan does not have to take a physical fitness test, just a physical exam. If Evan is selected he'll have to...
