LEJOG... By Bus

Challenge to get from Lands End to John O'Groats using only local public transport. Turning up on the day and buying a ticket! Tuesday, 12 November 2013. Michaels Post-journey journey (part 1). John O’Groats didn’t seem to me to be the right place to end our trip – It was hardly the end of a long. Road and looking out north what could you see – Land, albeit an island or two! It fitted the principle of being a “scheduled service” – but on water! The bus to Deerness runs a few times a day and I planned to ...

We are now in our hostel after completing our 1007 mile bicycle ride! We left our hotel in the middle of nowhere at around 9. Today was 86 miles to the finish so we knew we had a biggy. We were joined by Les the Great and Matty the Adventurer and set off into a reasonable head wind. Were all feel a little loopy and it seems a bit surreal but its over!

LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS. On Saturday 22nd August 2009 4 friends from Exeter in Devon will attempt to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats. We aim to complete the challenge in 9 days. The total distance to be covered over the 9 days is 921 miles. We will have no back up support. We are staying in pre booked hotels and guest houses. It seemed like a good idea at the time discussing it over a few beers down the local pub one Saturday evening. HOW YOU CAN HELP. Create a free website.

LEJOG Cycle 2011

Tuesday, 16 August 2011. Jim H’s day 14 Lejog blog. Another stinky night on narrow bed, with a nasty duvet. I didn't care. I could just see some more North Sea oil rigs on the horizon from the cliff top. I thought about the poor sods working out there and it made the frequent hills more bearable. Over the course of...
