The Salton Sea is extremely low water due to the drought. The lake bed was very mushy and sticky due to the recent rain that fell there. It was impossible to drive off the paved roads with out getting stuck in the soil. The only good thing is the lack of pesky flies and mosquitos that are a constant nuisance in the warmer months.
