The List | Changing Shapes
https://changingshapes.wordpress.com/the-list
Look, Mom…my hand is changing shape to prove that I'm a writer. – Andrea Gibson. Stuff to read. Every writer’s got one. This will help me keep track of mine. Obviously this isn’t the complete list because I could never think of everything off of the top of my head, but it includes stuff I’ve bought without getting around to, or want to buy/borrow/listen to. I know there are things I should add, so help me out! Ash, Melinda Lo. Dykes to Watch Out For, Alison Bechdel. A Seahorse Year, Stacey D’erasmo.

he sure plays a mean pinball… | Changing Shapes
https://changingshapes.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/he-sure-plays-a-mean-pinball
Look, Mom…my hand is changing shape to prove that I'm a writer. – Andrea Gibson. July 8, 2011. He sure plays a mean pinball…. I don’t expect words to always be transcendent, to be transformers, to be heroes. They’re just words. Sounds you can hear, something you can feel move. From your ears to bounce down somewhere inside you. Like your ribcage is a pinball machine, slamming from bone to heart to bone to heart to bone to. The third time is the bonus, the flashing lights going off all over your body.

“You’re different.” | Changing Shapes
https://changingshapes.wordpress.com/2011/06/02/youre-different
Look, Mom…my hand is changing shape to prove that I'm a writer. – Andrea Gibson. June 2, 2011. 8220;You’re different.”. When I get to the barbershop, it’s weird. It’s a rooster room. Instead of feeling comfortable, though, I’m out of sorts. I barely know what it means to be a dude away from my friends, how to be with black folks, and especially not how to be with black men who perceive me as their version of a black woman. A straight black woman. Obviously not quite a straight black woman. Sure am, yR...

Look, Mom…my hand is changing shape to prove that I'm a writer. – Andrea Gibson. July 1, 2011. Boy Meets Girl, excerpt. This is some creative non-fiction I’ve been working on revisions for instead actually posting on here. Email me if you would like to read the rest or have feedback you’d like to share. I remember the day I stopped being a girl. Everything shifted slightly the summer I turned twenty. I wanted to be a fit woman, feminine but athletic, like the kind who train people on television. ...The s...

Look, Mom…my hand is changing shape to prove that I'm a writer. – Andrea Gibson. May 17, 2012. Lambda Literary Foundation Writer’s Retreat. This year has really made me feel validated as a writer. It’s a confidence booster and motivation to continue because I know it’s not just some harebrained idea I got when I was little. Granted, it’s the one harebrained idea I got when I was little and actually held on to, so that’s saying something. Bastard Out of Carolina–. About C.L. Clark. I'm a black queer/lesbi...
