Why I’m Doing This. A Journey Through the Lenten Season. Readings. 3.21. Asymp; Leave a comment. Psalms 145:8-9, 13-14, 17-18. Jesus is pretty direct in the passage from John today. If you believe, you will have resurrection of life. My prayer for today…. LORD, You are glorious and powerful. You are all. You are over all. Lord, keep reminding us that You know where we’re coming from. You’re with us. You lead us through. We love You, Lord. Asymp; Leave a comment. Ezekiel 47:1-9, 12. Psalms 46:2-3, 5-6, 8-9.

Why I’m Doing This. A Journey Through the Lenten Season. Asymp; Leave a comment. Daniel 3:14-20, 91-92, 95. Psalms 3:52-53, 55-56. There is no need for us to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If our God, whom we serve, can save us from the white-hot furnace and from your hands, O king, may he save us! But even if he will not, know, O king, that we will not serve your god or worship the golden statue that you set up. I love that. Their faith astounds me. My prayer for today…. Larr; Previous post.

Why I’m Doing This. A Journey Through the Lenten Season. Readings 2.15.13. Asymp; Leave a comment. Psalm 51:3-6ab, 18-19. Today’s readings concentrate on fasting. I haven’t found a way to really express what the readings are saying to me today. But the reflection/meditation says it well. Here are the reflections of Don Schwager of www.dailyscripture.net. Are you hungry for God? This was a time of great feasting and celebrating. Jesus points to himself as the. What kind of fasting is pleasing to God?

Readings. 3.26 | Lenten Musings

Why I’m Doing This. A Journey Through the Lenten Season. Readings. 3.26. Asymp; Leave a comment. Isaiah 7:10-14, 8:10. If only all of us could have the attitude of Mary, Jesus’ mother. Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.’. And that’s it. She’s approached by an angel and told she will become pregnant and the only question she asks is “How” since she’s a virgin and never been with a man. She never. I’d just keep falling down. Why I’m Doing This. A Journey Through the Lenten Season. Asymp; Leave a comment. Today’s readings talk about turning your back on God. The readings talk about the people of Israel turning their backs on God and creating the golden calf to worship. God had just freed them from slavery in Egypt and they respond by worshipping an idol. How often dowedo that? How often will God pull us from something so terrible for us, only to turn and walk away from Him? My prayer for today…. Larr; Previous post. Create a ...

Lenten Lentils

Monday, March 19, 2012. Long time no post! It's been quite a few days since my last post, and I have been cooking up some goodies lately now that I'm on Spring break. My mom's birthday was last week so when I came home I made a vegan Chocolate Mousse. Stuffed Chocolate Cake - delish! Anyway, this morning I cooked up some Scrambled Tofu. Leaving out the nasty nutritional yeast. It was awesome! And they were SO GOOD! I think I'd even take a portobello burger over a regular patty, too! Tomorrow is my 4-year...

Word. | ‘O plunge your hands in water,/Plunge them in up to the wrist;/Stare, stare in the basin/And wonder what you’ve missed.’

8216;O plunge your hands in water,/Plunge them in up to the wrist;/Stare, stare in the basin/And wonder what you’ve missed.’. Genesis 17 – 20. September 26, 2013. By shifting the time of circumcision to the eighth day after birth, biblical religion made it no longer a “rite of passage” but the sign of the eternal covenant between God and the community descending from Abraham. God promises Abraham a son by Sarah, and descendants for Ishmael – but reiterates that the covenant line will flow through I...

A Lenten Longing

One woman's journey through the forty days of lent! God, my peeps, and planet earth. From Stone to Living Word" by Debbie Blue. Sunday, February 10, 2008. This afternoon, I was deeply touched by the words I read in my Lenten scripture readings. I was particularly captured by these verses in Romans 5:12-21. One man said no to God and put many people in the wrong; one man said yes to God and put many in the right. Dear God, I want to say yes to you! Help me say yes! Grace, sweet amazing grace. Grace, becau...
