Leo Singleton - Green Woodwork

Is made using traditional techniques and tools. The individual components of the piece are 'cleft' (split) from the fresh (green) log -hence 'greenwood', then shaped by hand and carefully dried before assembly. Leo only uses domestically grown wood which he has harvested himself or sourced locally from sustainably managed woodlands. All pieces are finished with raw linseed oil. Napping in the Yurt 2013. Introduction to green woodwork came (as with many others) through a chair making course in 2009 with Mike Abbott. At his woodland workshop in Herefordshire. I subsequently returned on two 'development weeks' and then finally in 2011 as a course assistant.
