Attempts At Being A Grown-Up. A recent graduate's venture into real life. Well and truly hooked. Since I learnt to knit and successfully completed a sock (read about that exciting little adventure here. I decided it was time to put my hand to a new skill – I have an incredibly short attention span; the fact I managed to complete a whole three year degree still amazes me. I am lucky enough to have one of those mums who can do anything. So I enlisted her to teach me to crochet (she is a brave lady). Novemb...

Peacocks and Forest Glades | Messy Mama Makes

Messy Mama creations and patterns. Peacocks and Forest Glades. I tried oh I tried so hard to concentrate the whole way through this project. But I confess I got so carried away at the end, loving the harlequin section and getting excited about it being so nearly finished as I went around the border that I forgot to note down my stitch count so I STILL only have a half-finished properly written up pattern! This uses the Starflower Square. Pattern coming soon – promise……! March 2, 2015. March 2, 2015.

Changes in the Wind. Picture Post →. Posted by The Navigator. It was unreal that as I stood in Houston on a sunny day, there were planes flying into buildings in New York. It was surreal. The day just got worse and worse as we learned about the plane that crashed in PA and the one that hit the Pentagon. We all took turns watching TV and then answering calls from customers. All planes were immediately grounded. What a difference a few years make. Posted in Remembering September 11th. Changes in the Wind.

Beating the Heat, Texas Style. Posted by The Navigator. The basic idea is that you put tea bags in room temperature, or any temperature, water. Instead of heating the water, you then set the container out in the sun for a little while and let the sun do the work of brewing the tea. It is best to use a glass container with a lid that seals tight enough to keep out any bugs wanting to sample your tea. Posted in alternative energy. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Where did the time go? Posted by The Navigator. Here are a few pictures of my most recent quilting adventures. The Walking Dead Quilt. One of my many baby quilts- I love pink and yellow together- so cheery! My puppies don’t mind the quilting, but taking pictures of the quilts wears them out. Posted by The Navigator. On the Importance of Cooking and Baking with Children. How fast a crocheter are you? January 12, 2015. Guess I’ve been wondering about this for a while, especially since I get very little time to crochet at the moment; only in the evenings once the boys are in bed. I know there will be a lot of variation in how fast people crochet, but would love to know how long it takes people to complete various projects? 11 thoughts on “ How fast a crocheter are you? Personal blog of Olga's creative endeavours. Play House and Pretend Play. Updating an old desk. DIY – Crochet Succulent Garden. By Olga Souslova McDowall. The other day I went to Fasouliotis (the local shop where I buy my supplies) and I could hardly fit through the yarn isle. Not so much because of all those lovely Christmas kilos, but because there were so many other ladies panting for some wool! And it could not be easier! Oh, and then there are flowers. The instructions. It just so happened that I ha...
