Si respira un'aria d'incertezza nella Vigata di Montalbano, un'aria a tratti limpida, carezzevole, a tratti putrida e pesante, che ti impedisce di ragionare bene, capire cosa non ci sia più, cosa sia cambiato. Siamo lontani dal miglior Camilleri, e su questo è difficile essere in disaccordo, con l'autore siciliano che ha dato la sua ultima graffiata ormai cinque anni fa, con La caccia al tesoro.
