Once we reached the gate, none of our caravan were to be found so we walked around an outdoor visitors center. The rest arrived about 30 minutes later. We had a delicious lunch made by the hired cooks, complete with lots of greasy chapati (YUM! I never got the impression from him that he was invested at all in this experience; he rarely spoke and was generally unresponsive to us. Is it there but I don't see it?

So, now he's short several hundred dollars and will have to find a way to get through his trip on that much less. Fun stuff. Ah, Africa. And had drinks while we waited for dinner to be prepared. Yes, that's right - we aren't cooking! As part of this "optional excursion", the campsite provides cooks so we don't have to cook or do dishes for any of the meals over the next few days :) Yay!

Adventures in East Africa. Sunday, January 4, 2009. Day 10: Kabale - Kampala (4 November). It's strange to be on the other side of the planet and still feel, in this way, like I'm at home.) I stayed in the bar for a couple hours, following the coverage, then went to hang out with some of the gang. A group of us have upgraded to a cottage, we wanted a little reprieve from the tents.and sore backs. It's actually quite a spacious place, with a full kitchen, two bedrooms, and our own HOT shower!
