These are the four paintings that I've got hanging in the new Catawampus Gallery in Opelika. They will be hanging for a month. This is a close up of my favorite one. I love to paint irises! Occasional musings, sketches and paintings. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. A friend was out of town yesterday and invited us to harvest his garden to keep it producing. We came home with quite a bounty! Here's just one little bit of it; quite colorful! I put a bunch of squash in the freezer over the weekend from another friend, and today I battered and froze two trays of eggplant, and we sliced, battered and baked another one for supper. Yummy! It was like fried okra but without the grease. My Cafe Press store.

If you look carefully at the last one, you'll see six deer running out of the yard. :). Last week we made pickles with cucumbers from our garden, added to those our neighbor gave us! This fall has been busy with moving, painting, art shows and life. :) I ditched the 30 in 30 challenge early on because we moved in September, but I didn't stop painting. I've done several plein air paintings (see the bottom 2 in this group) and dog portraits. The cotton painting was just for fun. My mom paints cotton a lot and I had never tried it before. The owner decided to have 12x12 as the theme, and all artists were to submit works in that size. I enjoyed the challenge, because that's not a format I usually paint in.
