Planning: Rustic Hillside House Quilt | Leslie Unfinished
http://www.leslieunfinished.com/2015/07/planning-rustic-hillside-house-quilt.html
A project blog devoted to quilting, sewing and crafts. Blog & Technical. July 27, 2015. September 10, 2015. Planning: Rustic Hillside House Quilt. So…I’m going to try to bring back the 20 Minutes A Day idea, because let’s face it, I’m not getting anything done and I have a slew of quilts I need and want to make. So, if you find yourself in a similar situation, join me for 20 minutes of creativity every day. Or at least 4-5 times a week 😉. PS Thanks for sticking around while I’ve been absent! I typically...

A project blog devoted to quilting, sewing and crafts. Blog & Technical. May 2, 2013. September 5, 2015. Past Obsession: Shard Art. Several years ago, my mom and I were obsessed with Shard Art. My mom had taken a class at a local antique business and we caught the bug. Big time. We looked through everything we owned to determine what we’d be willing to part with so we could break it. That was the best part of it. The breaking. We found a lot of ‘treasures’ at a favorite thrift store that benefitted the b...

A project blog devoted to quilting, sewing and crafts. Blog & Technical. July 12, 2011. September 6, 2015. This is a fun summer, rainy day or camp activity that each participant can individualize. If you are planning a craft for a large group, this one is ridiculously economical. Supplies for 200 girls were just about $50. That’s hard to beat. Beads (I love wooden beads for this). Packing Tape, Safety Pin or Clipboard. With your hemp secured, untangle and separate the strands. You’ve just created a...
Star Block Tutorial | Leslie Unfinished
http://www.leslieunfinished.com/2014/08/star-block-tutorial.html
A project blog devoted to quilting, sewing and crafts. Blog & Technical. August 30, 2014. September 11, 2015. I’ve made a few quilts with this star block pattern. In a June post. I spoke about how I’ve avoided star blocks for years. It seemed like I’d always lose a point or two. But, I love this star pattern. It gives me perfect points and I like the way the fabric seems to frame the star as well. To make a scrappy star:. 1 Background Fabric – Cut 8 squares @ 4.5 x 4.5. To make a star from one fabric:.
Houndstooth Quilt | Leslie Unfinished

A project blog devoted to quilting, sewing and crafts. Blog & Technical. March 17, 2011. September 11, 2015. I typically don’t make quilts with a lot of little pieces. To be honest, I don’t always have the patience needed to be exact in my piecing. But, when you’re sewing a gazillion bits of fabric together, exactness counts. I had to do a LOT of trimming on this one and that’s purely due to my own piecing skills and not the pattern. Grey v. Gray. Two More Baby Quilts →. May 21, 2011 at 7:57 pm. Coni ...

Annotations: a paper trail. Started as a blog about paper projects which became more about fabric projects. Ultimately, it's just about me—my likes, projects, thoughts and heart. It's a bird, it's a frog, it's a cat, it's a bat. I came across this mega-format look back in January and knew I wanted to make it someday. It's much easier to discern when looking at the whole. My inspiration for this was a pattern by V and Co. From her pattern by StudioCherie. It reminds me of a beautiful watercolor painting.

Annotations: a paper trail. Started as a blog about paper projects which became more about fabric projects. Ultimately, it's just about me—my likes, projects, thoughts and heart. Quiltworks offered a class in this quilt pattern. But I decided to download the pattern online and set out on my own. I wanted a 'modern' vibe, so opted for using a medium gray as my neutral—new concept for me. This is the second quilt top in a row in which I've used significant areas of solid color(s). Annotations: a paper trail. Started as a blog about paper projects which became more about fabric projects. Ultimately, it's just about me—my likes, projects, thoughts and heart. Back in May, before giving this quilt to a friend (she was right, it DOES go with the colors in her new house! Oddly enough, I'd bought a few fat quarters of these lines in December 2012 and more in March 2013. I'd certainly say the look grew on me. But it may find itself heading west, someday. 22 October, 2013 20:50. And the su...

Annotations: a paper trail. Started as a blog about paper projects which became more about fabric projects. Ultimately, it's just about me—my likes, projects, thoughts and heart. In mid-July, a pal in my quilting guild. Posted a photo of a herringbone-patterned quilt made with half-square triangles. It got me to thinking I'd like to make one. So I checked out a few more online and started laying out my own. The design evolved through a couple of different color palettes. I knew I wanted its quilting to b...

triangles & squares: The Enchanted Road
http://trianglesnsquares.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-enchanted-road.html
I have a baby quilt finish to share today :). I love the Road To Tennessee pattern and I had just enough fat quarters to make this little quilt. I used some prints I had won from The Intrepid Thread. Quite some time ago. They are from the Enchanted line by Sarah Fielke for Windham Fabrics. I paired it with some Moda Bella baby pink solid. The backing and binding are also prints from the same fabric line. I quilted alongside each square and down the center of each "x" print. The quilt finished at 36 x 45.

Fluff & Nonsense: April 2012
http://leslie-fluffnonsense.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. I love going to find some kind of amazing treasure at my sort of local flea market. This time, like last time i brought home another orphan quilt. I can not walk away from a good one. They just want a new home. This one was from the 30's or 40's with some really adorable feed sacks mixed in, and all hand done. I fell in love on the spot! Ps, this new blogger thing stinks! Thursday, April 5, 2012. So, off to the sewing closet we went to pick fabric! Wanna mess with that! Thanks for...

I use to be good at eating my fruits and veggies somewhere in the last few years that skill has dwindled to a chore. its not that i don’t love fruits and veggies, its just that life has gotten in the way and it requires more effort to figure out how to fit them into a busy day. This is the smoothie i made:. 1 cup frozen blueberries. 1 handful fresh spinach leaves. 1 cup milk ( soy or water a possibility). 1 tbs flax meal. 1 tbs sugar (optional). Here is a picture of the sangria I made yesterday. Splash o...
