The Saltire Centre provides students and staff with a 21st Century Library that includes a 600 seat Learning Cafe designed to support conversational learning, provides an innovative approach to the delivery of student services and has a wide range of study environments from the monastic to the highly interactive.

The Saltire Centre won a number of national awards. The RIBA Design award. The Lighting Design Award. At a ceremony at the London Hilton, Park Lane on 15th March 2007 the Saltire Centre won the prestigious Lighting Design Award in the workplace category. The Scottish Design Award. The Saltire Centre also won a Scottish Design Award in 2007 in the public building category. Better space - better learning.

In 2011 I worked as an educational consultant for York St John University on a refurbishment project for the Fountains Library and Learning Centre. Fountains was constructed in 2003 and has high quality space spread across three floors . The building provides library, IT and study facilities for students and staff. My role in this project was to bring new ideas on learning space design and development and help improve the way services were delivered ensuring that the final result had real ‘wow’ factor.
