My time in Southeast Asia. All posts by KRobison. Hanoi: My Beloved Homebase in the North. June 1, 2014. I’ve spent a total of about five days in Hanoi, using it as a home base between my time in Halong Bay and Sapa. I have to say I love this town! And that’s despite it being so humid and hot that I’m never not. Sticky with sweat. There’s just something about this place it makes me happy! Good food. A nice surprise, really. The view from the restaurant, Cau Do. DJs tearing it up, with the owner looking on.

My time in Southeast Asia. Monthly Archives: May 2014. Take me Away to Halong Bay. May 31, 2014. Halong Bay is a magical place. Its rocky islands are so picturesque, yet photos don’t do them justice. I had so many people tell me how amazing the place was that I was afraid I’d end up disappointed. But the place lives up to the hype. I’m on a boat! Views of the bay. I love that we had boat plants. Cute little fishing boat. Chilling on the top deck (Matt and Michael). The, err, pointer finger rock formation.

Saturday, July 6, 2013. Angkor Wat and curry! I recently traveled to Siem Reap in Cambodia to see the magnificent Angkor Wat sunrise. It was beautiful and was most definitely picturesque. Other than visiting Wats or temples around Siem Reap and partying at night in Pub Street, there really isn't much to do in Siem Reap; that's why my friend recommended me to attend a Khmer cooking class at the Tigre de Papier. It is a restaurant cum cooking school for tourists. To make curry paste, you will need the ff:.

JIMUISSS: Wanna - The Greatest Tour Guide in Cambodia
http://jimuisss.blogspot.com/2009/03/wanna-greatest-tour-guide-in-cambodia.html
Wanna - The Greatest Tour Guide in Cambodia. Recommended this tour guide to me 3 weeks before we left for Cambodia. After few correspondences with him via email, WANNA (aka Yun Wanna) officially became our tour guide for the temple visiting. I wonder if it is due to the female-dominant culture or the mindset of a traditional Cambodian, he was surprised when he found out it was a She (instead of a Guy) who sent him the emails during our first meet up in Le Tigre De Papier. Wanna, You're superb! He is know...

Blogging My Way Round The World. Thursday, 18 August 2016. Cambodia Was It Really Worth It. Lies, deceit, scams, disrespect and a blatant blind eye to the child sex trade. Cambodia is a country that has suffered so much in the not so distant past, that has a beautiful side but it's vastly over shadowed by a deep dark side that nobody should ever have to witness. I'll list the scams and cons I encountered during my 14 days in Siem Reap. They are listed in order of them happening. Countless people just com...

Friday, January 31, 2014. A Duo of Mac and Cheese. For the highbrow version, we added a few drops of white truffle oil, mustard powder, and plenty of black pepper. For the lowbrow, we added the sautéed hot dogs, Dijon mustard, siracha, dill, and parsley. Both iterations were tasty. We served the pasta with a side of sautéed collard greens to cut the richness. I have to say, I think top-your-own-mac-and-cheese could be the next best thing. Posted by Marisa Olsen. Monday, January 27, 2014. Five of my Faves.
