Let Kids Create: Making a worm farm
http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2012/04/making-worm-farm.html
Making a worm farm. What better to do on a rainy day than go on a worm hunt? My girls are loving these slimy little creatures. Lately so we found a way. That we could keep a few as "pets" for a while. To make your own worm farm you need just a few basic things:. An empty 2 liter bottle (or something similar in size). After a couple of days we were able to remove the black paper and see what the worms had been up to. We could see several of them making their way through their new home. The girls l...Septe...
Let Kids Create: Stamped Stripey Star T-shirts
http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2013/07/stamped-stripey-star-t-shirts.html
Stamped Stripey Star T-shirts. As I was browsing Pinterest. The other day, I came across this awesome activity. And knew my kids would love to do this for the 4th of July. I already had most of the supplies needed to do this project:. Corrugated cardboard - cut into star shapes (I just traced around some cookie cutters). Red and blue acrylic paint mixed 2:1 with textile medium (or use some fabric paint and skip the mixing step). This one was created by my 6-year-old. This is the creation of my 4-year-old.
Let Kids Create: June 2013
http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Just a small post to share what my kids are giving to their school teachers this year as school is coming to an end. I found this cute "orange you glad it's summer" printable here. Found an orange insulated tumbler at the grocery store, and filled it up with a variety of crystal light drink mixes along with a hand-made card from my child. I also wrote a short note to the teacher on the back of the orange tag expressing my appreciation. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe in a reader.
Let Kids Create: Rice Art
http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2011/06/rice-art.html
Summer time is time for outside art, so this time we tried something new. We have done sand art before where we dyed the sand using food coloring, we have also dyed pasta and used that in our artwork, but we have never tried dying rice and using it for art. So here's how it went:. I took 1 cup of rice and put it into a Ziploc bag, then added 3 tablespoons of vinegar. I let the rice sit for a few minutes in their bags once they were the colors were thoroughly mixed. At first, Lou wasn't so sure what to do...
Let Kids Create: Sticky collage with crayon wrappers
http://letkidscreate.blogspot.com/2011/12/sticky-collage-with-crayon-wrappers.html
Sticky collage with crayon wrappers. The activity for day 13 of the Hands on Play Challenge. Was to create sticky art. I decided to pull out some contact paper for Mina to play on while Maisy was at school. I started out trying to do this play challenge like I had seen on Pinterest. But we just couldn't get our toothpicks to stick. I don't know if it's because our contact paper wasn't the brand name. Apparently it just wasn't sticky enough. She liked naming all the colors and counting. And hope it sticks.

Graffiti Friday #32 →. May 18, 2015 · 10:23 am. Miniaturized things always look so adorable, and I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so. When it comes to food, Pinterest. My daughter made the mini picnic offerings above and did her mama proud by including, what I considered, the perfect student meal while living in France. Only thing missing is a bottle of red wine. May 4, 2015 · 11:56 am. Thank goodness for spring, and its ability to give us hope that we are not condemned to a life of shovelling snow. Having said that, it does bring plenty of rain, and the need for rainy day activities. Making textures is a fun and simple way to keep fidgety fingers happy, and what better place to start than in the kitchen. Continue reading →. Tagged as art club blog. Arts and crafts for kids. What's Meant To Be. Saturday, October 13, 2012. All dolled up.and lots to do. Early Saturday morning emptied Suey and headed to the airport to Las Vegas. We left the 3 oldest boys with my nephew David and gf Tara and left Dallon with my sister Christine. It was hardest to leave Dallon (first time) but we were excited for a little break. Flight was quick and before we knew it, we were on the train to baggage claim and our rental car. This collage was brought to you by. A great first night to our trip!

What's Meant To Be. Friday, November 2, 2012. I love this old picture of Ashton(on the left). It was taken at a corn maze a couple of years ago. He doesn't get quite as frightened these days.but on occasion we get a glimpse of his sweet scared face. We were able to go to several Halloween stores this year to check out spooky costumes. Surprisingly.Logan would let us get him right up to all the scary things. Sunday, October 28, 2012. He looked so sharp! A few days after his bday he got to meet with the bi...

What's Meant To Be. Sunday, March 3, 2013. Jr Jazz and Blue and Gold Banquet. One thing I am going to miss about this neighborhood is all the great friends the boys have made. Ashton has been doing soccer and Jr. Jazz with the same group of boys. The were undefeated until there last game. They sure had a lot of fun. They served spaghetti w/meatballs and served cake afterwards. What a fun night for Tristan. Such great boys we have! I hope they call me on a mission! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

What's Meant To Be. Sunday, November 11, 2012. Tristan William Monroe was baptized yesterday into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has been so excited ever since he turned 8 in October. It was a stake baptism held at 11:00 on a Saturday. Which was nice to have time in the morning to get ready. The stake primary president had called me earlier that week asking if I would do a talk. I asked her if we could do the musical number instead. Top left corner of this picture.Logan and my si...

Do you have a child that is as crazed over Minecraft as much as my girls are? My daughter, Maisy, just turned 8 and absolutely had to have a Minecraft theme to her party.
