Sometimes when I feel like taking a break from cooking but want to live free without the guilt of stuffing myself with all that mayo at lunch time, I tend to make a filling of my own. This is one of them. I love it hope you do too. A can of pilchards - Preferabaly without tomatoe sauce or sunflower oil. A couple of cherry tomatoes if needed. Finger chili (optional) 2. Tuesday, 19 March 2013. This is a favorite party food in Sri Lanka. You'll never find a proper Sri Lankan festival without a few cutlets at the dinner table. I love it! Can of Pilchard - (drained and flaked). Medium sized potatoes - 4 (boiled and mashed). Onions - 1 (cut finely). Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp. Oil for deep frying. Black pepper powder - 2 tsp. Flour - 3 tbs. Warm water - 1 teacup. Add 1 tbs of oil into the flour and stir in the water bit by bit until it forms a thick consistency, set aside.

The best part of this dish is you can have it with rice, mix it into noodles or even have it as a sandwich filling. Yum. Chicken as much as you like. I used about 1 kg. Hot peppers (sliced) a few.
