http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Sunday, November 16, 2014. And then the pieces fell into place. It has been one of those weeks where the pieces just fell into place. And not in an instant, but over time.the groundwork has paid off. First, this glorious friend of mine qualified for Boston! I am so happy for her. SO HAPPY FOR HER! I knew the time was right after my last class with OSPI here in Washington. I applied to Gonzaga University to get my administrative credential. This week, my pr...

Carpenter's Corner: Writing
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2015/08/writing.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Writing always starts out as a selfish act for me. Something on my heart, in my mind and circling my soul. Writing always gives back to me.different thoughts, tough questions, new friends, an angry reader, and a plethora of memories. This blog is just one of my outlets. As I've spent the summer going through boxes, I've found unopened letters, love letters and journals galore. I'm going to keep writing. View my complete profile.

Carpenter's Corner: My Letter to the Editor
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2015/08/my-letter-to-editor.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Monday, August 3, 2015. My Letter to the Editor. It was a typical Saturday run down Howard St. near Tietan Park. As has been my habit for over 8 years, I was running towards traffic, on the road, hugging the curb. However, I was startled as a man on a 3-wheeled blue motorcycle slowed down next to me and yelled with disgust, "You belong on the sidewalk. Pedestrians should be on sidewalks.". Carpenter's Corner: The Gift of Time--Camp CSTP
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-gift-of-time-camp-cstp.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Thursday, July 30, 2015. The Gift of Time- Camp CSTP. An early morning hike! 5 miles at 5:30 am. I started out thinking that I would reflect at the end of each day while I was here at CSTP. But every day, I ran out of time. Which is funny because this week has been all about the gift of time. Time to develop a message, time to devise a plan and time to write about all of the above. (But no time to put it on the blog! So as I'm sitting here drinking my iced...

Carpenter's Corner: Leadership Journey and Goals
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2015/07/leadership-journey-and-goals.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Leadership Journey and Goals. I am a National Board Certified teacher with 20 years experience and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Over the years I have taken on many leadership roles. I knew I was working towards a common goal of student improvement for the our district, but I never saw it as a way to improve my teaching or to reflect upon my leadership skills. And then CSTP got in my head again. This time? This t...

Carpenter's Corner: July 2014
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Wednesday, July 23, 2014. I very loosely planned out my training plan for the upcoming half marathon and marathon. I wrote down the amount of miles I wanted for me long run each week and was purposeful in increasing, knowing when to pull back a week and then increasing some more. I argued with myself for about 5.9 miles. I could've gone 12, but the point was, I shouldn't go 12.yet. So I found a happy medium and went 6. I have to stay committed to that.

Carpenter's Corner: "Mom! I'm going to Camp!!!"
http://carpcorner.blogspot.com/2015/08/mom-im-going-to-camp.html
Running, teacher leadership and other ramblings. Thursday, August 13, 2015. I'm going to Camp! I hadn't even gotten in the building yet and was brimming with excitement. I started each day with an early activity. My first day was a beautiful run. My next day was a hike with a group of new friends. We went to the top of Little Si. And the final morning, I carried my coffee around and walked the trails around us. A cozy room made for a wonderful night's rest. It also helps to be surrounded by like minded p...
