the family pierce: mary and luke, javanese style.
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/2015/06/mary-and-luke-javanese-style.html
Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Mary and luke, javanese style. For a few months now i have wanted to take pictures of my kids in javanese clothes. my kids are growing up on java and are obviously influenced by the culture and way of life here. though people don't wear these kind of clothes on a daily basis they are often seen at significant events, historical photos, etc… and i love them. That girl and her poses… the way she tilts her head and moves her hips kills me. June 9, 2015 at 1:05 PM. These photos are won...

the family pierce: November 2014
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 15, 2014. This picture is my all time favorite. She handed it to me and said…. Mom, look i drew a picture for you! It's kind of about God too. you were in the desert and you were really hungry and thirsty. so, god turned the desert into water and he made this tree grow with apples so you weren't hungry. and, i made a heart flower because i love you.". And then my heart melted. Saturday, November 8, 2014. Luke loves to play sports and from about 18 months-2.5 years old he was obsess...

the family pierce: September 2014
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Rough days and rats. It hasn't been the best of days around here. luke has been sick (for the second time this month)… and he's so very pathetic. he starts coughing… then has a hard time breathing, his tummy hurts from coughing, he wheezes and pants and groans. he wouldn't be away from me for about 48 hours. eat, sleep, bathroom. all of it he was on my lap. awesome. Getting his water, blanket, crayons, and everything else he's asked for. Monday, September 22, 2014. A few mo...

the family pierce: Adoption
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/p/adoption.html
We are excited that God has led us to grow our family through adoption! After praying and doing some research, we chose to adopt a child from Ethiopia. We went to work on our home study paperwork and in April our caseworker came to Indonesia. Finally in August our home study was complete and we sent in out the next set of paperwork to the US Gov't. After praying for a week, we decided to switch programs. Our baby will be from Lesotho! People often ask "so what now" or "when will you have your baby? Adopt...

the family pierce: blueberry crunch and heaven
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/2015/05/blueberry-crunch-and-heaven.html
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Blueberry crunch and heaven. My latest conversation in the car with these two…. Luke: mom, is there anything worse than death? Luke: that's when the new world will come. Mom: yeah, the new heaven and earth will come. it's going to be awesome! Just like how God created the world to begin with. Mary: and there will be no more scrapes, or crying or sad people. They both chime in about the bad things that won't be in eternity with God… then it was silent for a second. Oh, 5:30 am!

Luke's imagination has taken off lately… and i LOVE hearing him play. he has always been bound to playing in mary's pretend worlds… so he has played a lot of baby and school! Yesterday i just sat and took photos of him as he had a car battle. Here some of the mean battle faces we see all.day.long. Having a boy is so much fun…. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. I am the Lord your God, I go before you now. I stand beside you, I'm all around you. Though...

the family pierce: a village swimming hole
http://thefamilypierce.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-village-swimming-hole.html
Friday, June 5, 2015. A village swimming hole. This week a took a night away with a friend to get out of the city, rest, pray and enjoy God's creation. i love walking through random places and just seeing what will happen or who i'll meet. this little adventure did not disappoint. i started in a rice field and ended walking through a village swimming hole. Following out of the rice field…. You may notice that there are no girls in the water… that's because as soon as i arrived they came out and cha...
