Both helpers and familly eat the main meal together in the middle of the day during the week. In the evening and on weekends volunteers can help themselves to anything from the main pantry in the house and of course all the veggies and milk they can handle. If you want anything extra let us know and we'll add it to the shopping list. The mobile is a recent addition so we haven't had time to take any photos yet but we will put some up soon. I loved every minute of it. I was lucky enough to catch the end of summer work- Silage! Sarah might disagree that I was lucky :) But I would definitely recommend staying for as long as possible (check your visa requirements! So that you get to see the weather change and how the farm work shifts as seasons change. I agree with Joy that staying longer has its downsides I am experiencing severe scone withdrawals, and my small pack of biscuits that I smuggled back to the US is running low. August 16, 2010.

Summer on the farm —. Harvest the silage, particular attention paid to managing the grassland, vegatable garden maintence, chop wood for the winter and milking the cows. The Farm is located in a small village called Killenagh in Co. Wexford. There are many beautiful beaches nearby (about 4km away), two traditional pubs five minutes (on foot) up the road. Here you can also find a local bus service which will bring you into Gorey where you will find the national bus and train service to rest of Ireland. Bikes and occasional lifts provided. There are also points of interest on the farm itself such as an old fort called a 'raheen' which is a haven for native wildlife.
